New York Fashion Week was seriously like one big dream. Attending the runway shows, the rooftop parties and strutting our street style down the street with all of the other fashionistas, I’m already mentally planning my next trip! I have to say, my favorite part of the entire experience was seeing what everyone else was wearing. Not just the models! Stylistas from all across the globe flocked to Skylight Clarkson Square in SOHO with an array of outfits you truly don’t see in everyday life. While many of the looks were ones that would be quite daring to replicate for happy hour with the girls, there were prevalent trends here & there that anyone could rock .. anywhere! Sharing details on ten of my favorites below!
The Trends
Floral Dresses – Dressed up with denim, leather & boots … dark florals are here to stay! (How cute is this high-neck pretty!?)
Fashion Sneakers – It was all about comfort for some. Stylish skirts & dresses were paired with sleek sneakers for a look that’s athletic chic.
Gucci Inspired – Gucci was EVERYWHERE on the streets of New York surrounding the shows. With its designer price tag, the trend might not work for everyone. Thankfully so many other brands are taking notice and offering Gucci inspired pieces for any pocket book. (Like this black & white bag!)
Denim Jackets – The bigger, baggier & more distressed … the better! Love this one from Amazon!
Leather Jackets – The temperatures dipped each evening and that’s when the black leather jackets came out. From fitted to oversize, to black, brown & red, they were everywhere! (This is a cute “vegan” one for less than $25!)
Anything Metallic – Metallic skirts, handbags, tops and shoes were spotted on the streets too. I even tried the trend with this fabulous gold metallic pleated skirt. Dressed down with a tee or up with a blouse, it can be worn so many ways.
Statement Earrings – You think you’ve seen some serious statement earrings, but until you people watch outside of NYFW you haven’t seen anything! Larger than life earrings decorated the lobes of the street style stunners. Baublebar has some fabulous and affordable statement earrings that can help anyone recreate the look.
Mod Sunglasses – 60s style frames in shades of white, red, and black were everywhere. I even tried the trend out too with this budget-friendly pair.
Bold Booties – This was the first trend I noticed! It seems like almost everyone had on a pair of these booties! They kind of look like a short go-go boot and they come in just about every color you could imagine. Some wore leopard or floral printed, some wore velvet but most wore black. I’ll definitely be snapping up a pair of these booties come fall!
Voluminous Sleeves – Big sleeves are here to stay! (And I couldn’t be more thrilled) From tops to coats to dresses, big sleeves were … BIG at NYFW.
Now that I’m back in NYC, I’m itching for the temps to drop so I can start styling a few fall looks with some of the trends mentioned above! Fashion Week definitely filled me with outfit inspiration that I can’t wait to try out soon!
