Happy Tuesday! I took a bit of an unintentional blogging break this past week while in NYC. Turns out that when you have a jam packed NYFW schedule AND a baby to care for (even with the help of your fabulous mom) finding time to actually blog becomes non-existent. I seriously had the best time in New York and it was such a “bucket list” trip. There were times I just wanted to pinch myself while I was sitting front row at some of the shows! I’ll have so many posts up soon recapping the trip, sharing all of my thoughts and whatnot all on what it’s like to attend New York Fashion Week.
But until then, I’m keeping it casual with an easy laidback look that is perfect to transition from summer into fall. More on that below!
After a week of fancy dresses, heels, perfectly curled hair and makeup … the thought of wearing my comfy overalls again has me like .. “YAS!!!!” I seriously live in this distressed pair on the weekends and when I’m home with Annie. (I’ve linked a similar pair by Levi’s for under $70 here.) If I’m headed out to meet with a friend, I’ll swap my tennies out with a pair of low heels and pair them with a feminine ruffled top. I love this blue floral one that I recently found at Zara … for only $10! Don’t you love those semi-annual Zara sales!? It’s not available online but I picked out two somewhat similar tops that I think would be great alternatives.

Now that I’m back in Houston it’s back to reality. It’s my first time to be home for longer than 48 hours in almost three weeks. Patrick is out of town this week for a work trip so my mom flew back to Texas to spend a few more days with her girls. We plan on relaxing our exhausted NYC feet and eating lots & lots of tacos while she’s here. Now that’s a game plan that sounds SO good to me!
