2017, what a year!! I could go on & on reflecting on this past year and sharing my goals for the year ahead. But I’m going to wait to do that in another post. Until then, I’m chitchatting about New Year’s Eve style.
It’s the one time of year where all things shimmery, sparkly and sequined are not only encouraged but also expected. It’s a night to reflect on the year past and toast to new things to come. It’s a night that sometimes winds up having a lot of pressure to be perfect but I find that most imperfect New Year’s Eves end up being the perfect ones.
I’m sharing this festive look below, chatting about our NYE plans and rounding up a few sparkly dresses that will still ship to ya before the big night!
Shop the Look:
First things first, this outfit! This navy velvet dress by Eliza J couldn’t make for a better New Year’s Eve number. The sheath silhouette boasts blue sequins that will sparkle & shine all night long. I paired a silver hardshell clutch from Mark & Graham that is personalized with “Alice” for an added touch. And because I am so over being cold when I don’t have to be, I styled this dress with a gray poodle coat from Cheeky Vintage. I love that this coat is stylish enough to not even take off when walking into a party. Talk about a cozy NYE.
For those of you who still haven’t found your perfect party dress, Amazon and Nordstrom can get you your looks in time. Just be sure to select 1-2 day shipping. A few of my favorites (that are all under $100) are below!
red dress // silver dress // black floral // navy lace // silver dress // navy midi // green lace // red lace
This New Year’s Eve is our first as parents. So it’s no surprise that we don’t have any larger than life plans for the biggest party night of the year. However, we are doing a New Year’s Eve “Eve” party on the 30th with a bunch of friends. We’ll be getting dressed up and feeling like we’re cheating the system by ringing in the New Year the night before. I mean cabs & babysitters are a heck of a lot easier to grab one night early, right!?
On the actual New Year’s Eve, Patrick and I will our cook traditional dishes for luck: black-eyed peas, cabbage & turnip greens! An interesting and delicious combo that promises a prosperous new year? Sign me up! What are your plans this year?! Do you usually opt for a big night out or a cozy night in? Do you dress up either way!? I’d love to hear!
And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
