Embracing my Personal Style

“Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” (Isn’t that a great quote?) A woman’s personal style is her way of expressing her personality and tastes with the world through clothing. Personal style not only shows glimpses of the characteristics of the woman behind it, it also can reflect her current state, mood or feelings.

I’m chatting below how I found and embraced my personal style while sharing this darling dress from Evereve in today’s post. … More below!

I have to say, I feel like this outfit is the most “me” than probably anything else I’ve ever put up on the blog. This blue and white lacy embroidered midi dress combines every trend and detail I love most into one gorgeous piece. Paired with a vintage floral wicker satchel (from Cheeky Vintage), wedges that stand out from the crowd and lattice inspired earrings … I’d just like to wear this outfit every day from now on until forever thank you very much! It’s less than $100 at Evereve and I can’t say enough good things about this pretty pretty dress!

Shop the Look:

I made one specific clothing purchase early on in high school that I firmly believe set the tone for my tastes in fashion moving forward. And ironically, it was a dress that looked very very VERY similar to the one above. It was a white peasant style dress that fell to the knees. It had blue and white layers of lace and embroidery throughout. I wore it SO many times. So many times that it started to fall apart. And I loved it so much that I had a seamstress try and turn the remaining pieces into a top. (which worked out horribly.)

Since then, I’ve gravitated towards boho peasant style looks, embroidery, and lace. Three trends I’ve always loved but when they are all combined into one and actually work … I’m one happy girl! Now what do these clothing characteristics say about me, I wonder? I like to think that the boho peasant style means I’m laid back. The lace means I’m girly with a love for timeless feminine details. And the embroidery means I need a touch of color & exoticness too! Is exoticness even a word? Spellcheck seems to think so … so I’m going for it!

Hope you all have a wonderful start to Mother’s Day weekend! And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog.
