One thing that I love so much about living in a city as big as Houston, is that there always seems to be something fun going on. This past weekend I was invited to an event hosted by Zappos and Columbia, a sportswear brand that I’ve worn for years! (Mostly when camping.) With the summer season on the horizon, Zappos decided to celebrate Columbia’s PFG line in style and I was so glad to partake in the festivities! Sharing more snaps from the event and a bit about why I think the PFG line is peeeeeerfect for this hot Houston climate below.
People always talk about how it is their worst fear to show up to an event in the same dress as somebody else. But you guys, I love it! & it gives you a chance to take a twin pic like the one above! My sweet blogger pal Brittany from Hello Honey also attended the event last weekend. We both donned Columbia’s Super Bonehead II Sleeveless Dress in navy polka dot. The two of us must have pretty similar tastes because our looks were almost identical apart from the color of our shoes!
Speaking of shoes, Columbia’s PFG Vent Moc’s (the ones we’re styling above) are sooooo comfortable. Not only that, but these slip-ons are also lighter than air and totally waterproof. Hello, summer splash pads! I also couldn’t get over how light + breezy the fabric felt on that almost 100-degree day in our matching navy dresses. Definitely, a great shirtdress to spend the summer wearing!
Zappos and Columbia posted up their pop-up at Little Woodrow’s, a very popular Texas bar, in Midtown. You guys, can every bar come with a shoe store pop-up shop? I think that would make me happy as a clam!
What I love about Little Woodrow’s is that there is always something to do other than sit around and have a sip. We played Jenga, cornhole & even a giant game of connect four. I can’t even remember the last time I played connect four! Do you? It was a blast!
Another snap of my stylish shoes! These slip-on Spinner Vent Mocs by Columbia PFG also come in black, coral and a shade of taupe.
Naturally, one of my favorite parts of the event was the buffalo chicken sandwiches that were being handed out from the windows of the yellow food truck parked nearby. Yummmm!
Smiling big with a few of my favorite blogger babes! I loved seeing how we all put our own little personal spin on styling Columbia PFG for the event. You can definitely see each of our personalities coming through our looks too. It was such a great night out with the girls that we all agreed we must do it again sometime and soon!
Do you live in a warm climate like Houston and try to dress for the weather? Wearing the right clothes while out in the heat truly makes a difference!

A big thank you to Zappos and Columbia for sponsoring this blog post and inviting me out for such a lovely evening. As always, all opinion are my own. Thanks to you guys for supporting the brands that make Lone Star Looking Glass possible.
