My Summer Beauty Routine

This post has been a long time coming! I’ve been meaning to spill what’s in my make-up bag with y’all for ages now. And thanks to Annie’s extra long nap this past Sunday afternoon, I was able to carve away a bit of time to snap these photos.

Today I’m sharing each and every product that goes into my current summer beauty routine. While it looks like a whole lot of stuff, all of these goodies work together to create a look that is simple, natural and also elegant. (In my humble opinion, at least!) To see the finished look, basically check out any picture of me posted this summer ever, and you’ve got it! I haven’t changed up a single thing about this routine in at least a month, so it’s tried and true and here to stay for the rest of the summer.

Spilling how I use all of these products and why they stand out in the post below …

Foundation/Base:

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream: I use this as my daily moisturizer and apply it to a clean face before I begin putting on makeup. Not only does this lightweight cream quench my skin & keep it supple throughout the day, but it also makes for a smooth surface for when I apply concealer and foundation.

Erborian Pink Perfect Cream: This primer cream is a great base to put on prior to foundation. It “blurs” the skin in a way that reduces the appearance of pores. I’ll use this if I’m getting dolled up for something a little more special than the ordinary. For date night, a blog shoot or any event that calls for a little “extra.”

Erborian Concealer Pen: I absolutely adore this concealer! You use it like the pen and the spongelike applicator helps the concealer to go on smooth to create a flawless finish. The dark circles under my eyes are forever grateful to this concealer!

Erborian CC Cream: What I love most about this CC Cream (which I use as foundation) is that a little bit goes a LONG way. It also goes on light and blends quickly and evenly too.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup: On the days my skin is feeling really dry (which can be quite often) I opt for this foundation. I think it provides more moisture than the Erborian CC cream while also giving good coverage with SPF to boot.

Face:

IT Cosmetics Confidence in Your Glow Bronzer: I’ve been using this bronzer for almost a year now. It gives such a great glow with a hint of brightening and all-around warmth without any sort of “orange” hue added to your skin. I always see such a notable difference after I apply it … so this is one beauty essential I never go without!

BareMinerals Powder Blush: I’ve tried quite a few different brands and shades of blush and I’ve come to adore this one above all others. For my fair skin tone, I chose the shade Pretty in Pink and it gives my cheeks a subtle kiss of pink that I find looks as natural as if I were truly “blushing!”

Eyes:

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara: Creates big lashes in just a few strokes!

Neutrogena Waterproof Mascara: My go-to mascara for days when we’re hitting the pool. Or if I know I’m about to watch a reallllly sappy romance!

Smashbox Brow Tech Shaper: Another all-time favorite beauty find of mine that I’ve been using for years now. A few simple strokes of the loose powder on my brow makes them look fuller and realistic too.

Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette: You can’t tell from the photos but the case on this eyeshadow palette is just the cutest thing. It’s a mash-up of instagram travel pictures and every time I use it I just want to hit the road on another adventure! Aside from that, the shadow shades are extremely pigmented and stay put on your eyelid all day. I usually opt for the creamier beige and brown shades for a natural look. Sometimes I’ll spice it up with dark purple for a night out!

Eyeliner – I’m still looking for one that I like! I just ran out of my Clarin’s waterproof eye pencil and am pretty devastated about that. What’s your favorite non-liquid liner?

Lips:

Urban Decay Born to Run Vice Lipstick: Okay the mauve nude shade is EVERYTHING! It’s a bit darker than your typical everyday lipstick but the nude tones seem to make this shade blend right into my make-up look. It stays on for a good while too and doesn’t feel the least bit dry. This is the one lipstick that I always keep in my purse because I tend to choose to wear it … basically all the time.

Extras That I Can’t Live Without:

Urban Decay Setting Spray: In the Houston humidity, you can’t go too long without feeling like your makeup is falling off your face. Thank goodness for setting spray! A few spritzes of Urban Decay’s setting spray keeps my makeup intact all day long even when its 100+ degrees out!

IT Cosmetics Powder Brush: A great powder brush you can use for anything. I use it for blush and it picks up just the right amount making it easier to blend on my skin.

IT Cosmetics Jumbo Powder Brush: IT Cosmetics brushes are ahhhmazing y’all. Once you try them, you won’t be able to go back to any other brush. I use this one to apply my bronzer each and every day.

Thanks for letting me talk beauty to you all today! While these are my current favorite makeup products for summer, I have a slew of skincare goodies I’m currently using too. Hoping to round all of those up to share with you soon! In the meantime, wishing you guys a great start to your week!
