On this day (or somewhat around it) in history, St. Valentine married young lovers in secret – defying the ruling of the Roman Emperor. Today, we honor him by eating ALL the chocolate, wearing red & celebrating the ones we love most with heart-shaped things. And I’m here for it!
I’m so excited to spend this love-ly evening with my man. We have a sitter coming for a night out on the town just the two of us. While I am not actually wearing this skirt tonight (although I wish I was!!!!) I’m styling it & chatting all about it below!

Oh my goodness this Hunter Bell midi skirt is so good!! I actually rented it from Rent the Runway in December to wear to a holiday dinner but it was just so glamorous I knew I had to shoot it and share it on the blog too. When I got these photos back from the talented Yash I knew I wanted to wait to post them on Valentine’s Day. Because what is more Valentine’s Day style than a BIG RED skirt!?
This skirt was actually designed by local Houstonian Hunter Bell. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Hunter a few times and she is just as sweet (and as stylish) as can be! I’m always so excited to see Hunter’s pieces pop up when I’m browsing around on RTR Unlimted. I get to try out a few of them and invest in the ones I love most. Speaking of which, I’m totally wishing I decided to keep this red skirt forever & ever. I feel like this bold skirt will never go out of style & could be worn during the holiday season and for Valentine’s Day for years to come.
Are you dressing up in shades of red and pink today!? Still, haven’t decided what to don for our date tonight but right now I’m in a festive red floral top for the day’s mundane errands – just because! I’m a firm believer in having as much fun as you can with even the smaller holidays scattered throughout the year’s calendar.
Cheers to a love-ly Valentine’s Day, y’all!
