Why I’m Just Now Jumping on the Jumpsuit Bandwagon

I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve worn a jumpsuit. Don’t get me wrong, I think that they are absolutely beautiful. It has just taken me ages to jump (and stay) on this bandwagon. I can’t decide if the reason is due to the way jumpsuits fit me …or the fact that you have to basically completely undress to go to the bathroom when wearing one. Either way, I’ve tended to keep my distance these past few years.

Recently, however, I stepped out of my comfort zone to try this black polka dot number and what do you know … I fell in love and have worn it several times since. Sharing what makes this particular jumpsuit stand out in my book and styling it for the season below!

This black polka dot Eliza J jumpsuit tickles my fancy because it has feminine elements to it that makes the “jump” from dress to pantsuit much more comfortable. For one, the pants are wide and breezy at times almost creating a flowy silhouette similar to a skirt. The mid-section has a faux wrap-like accent that you’d find on a simple sundress.  Maybe the ones I’ve tried in the past have been a bit too structured for my style, I’m not really sure but I just know I’ve been staying far away.

I wore this polka dot jumpsuit to date night the other night with Patrick and for some reason, I felt fancier in pants than I would have any dress in my closet. The overall outfit made me feel more mature while also being laid back and elegant at the same time. I can’t quite put my finger on it! But it goes to show that there is no harm in trying something new with your wardrobe. You might be as surprised as I was to like it a whole lot too!

Keeping this blog post short & sweet today because I’m home with Annie and we’re about to head out to the playground. The sun just popped out to greet us! Hope you all have a great rest of your day. And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
