Chutney Cheese Ball Recipe

You guys.  I am about to share my most favorite party food recipe with you.
Growing up, every time my mom would attend any event that required bringing food, she would make a Chutney Cheese Ball.   I was always allowed just one sample before she left the house, and in the off chance that I was actually invited to the party, I’m pretty sure this was the only thing that I would eat.

One of our neighbors was hosting a block party last night, celebrating the new house that they are having built across the street.  It was so much fun to get out and meet some of our neighbors and I was also excited to make one of my favorite recipes to share.

You’ll Need:
-half a bag of finely shredded cheddar cheese
-block of cream cheese
-real bacon crumbles (usually I like to cook my own bacon and shred it up, but these were on hand and much quicker)
-1/3 of sliced green onions
-Major Grey’s Chutney (sold at Kroger usually found near the hot sauce…you must use THIS flavor/brand its definitely more savory than sweet chutneys)
-crackers to serve
Mix the cream cheese and cheddar cheese in a bowl and roll into a ball.   Chill in the fridge for about 15-20 minutes.
Slice (or cut) your green onions.   I usually would use a little bit more than pictured here, but we are growing our own and this was all that happened to be on hand at the time.
Pour on the chutney!  (I tend to use about 3/4 of the bottle)
