I’m surrounded by fabulous vintage pieces every day at Cheeky Vintage. (One of the perks of the job!) So it’s no surprise that my favorite clothing purchase of 2016 just might be this vintage Levi’s denim poncho.
Styling it today and sharing why I’m loving this 1970’s stunner below!
I’ve always been into anything & everything denim. Denim vests, skirts, tops & bottoms – you name it, I can’t get enough. Patrick and I even visited the Levi’s flagship store during our trip to San Francisco, because we’re that big of blue jean junkies. (I left with a pair of Levi’s denim shorts that I can’t wait to get back into!!!)
Anyway, when this vintage Levi’s Poncho made its way to Cheeky, I was smitten from the first moment I saw it. AND to top it off, it even worked with my baby bump! The fun thing about vintage is that every piece has a story to it. My boss actually found this poncho on her recent trip to Portland, Oregon. (Makes sense, doesn’t it!?) It’s fun to imagine how the original owner styled this poncho in Portland in the seventies. Probably a bit different than how I styled it today, I’d imagine!
I paired it with dark wash jeans, a white knit tee and my chunky Swedish Hasbeens Country Boots. I’d been hoping I’d get to wear these boots (now 50% off!) more this fall/winter but it just hasn’t gotten cold enough here in Houston. Such a bummer! Maybe next year!? I love the color and the unique shape to them. Ah, and they go perfectly with my camel crocodile clutch from Elaine Turner’s new resort collection. Y’all have got to check out her fun new pieces for spring … I’m swooning!

Today, I’m passing the time away waiting on baby by wrapping up a few work projects from home, blogging (of course) & meeting a friend for lunch. Hope you all are having a great Friday, too! It’s ALMOST the weekend!! PS: I’ll keep y’all updated on baby Kerley watch. At this point, your guess to her arrival date is as good as mine! 😉
And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
