This past weekend, Patrick and I travelled to Franklin, Tennessee to see two lovely college friends of ours say “I do.”
The wedding perfectly reflected the couple and was every bit as southern and charming as the bride and groom. Hands down one of the best and most beautiful weddings that I have ever been to. Thanks for throwing a great party, Patty and Mel!
Can you believe this backdrop!?
Their ceremony was filled with so much personality. The groom walked down the aisle to “Rocky Top” and the ring bearer carried the rings up in an old lacrosse stick. The string quartet that was nestled in the corner even played “Call Me Maybe” at one point! So fun.
Patrick and the groom both played lacrosse together in college. Lucky for me, a good portion of my college girl friends ended up dating Patrick’s “Lacrosse House” roommates. Needless to say, it was a fun reunion for the both of us!
My friend Christen and I were rocking our fancy maxi dresses, while just pretending to be modern day Scarlett O’Haras.
Okay not really. But it did sort of feel like we could have been attending a 21st century party at Twelve Oaks Plantation….Gone With the Wind reference anyone?
Tennessee, you sure are pretty!
It was sad to leave all of our good friends and fly back to Texas, when not long ago we were living such a short distance away. However, there will be many more weddings and reunions soon enough. And this gorgeous sunset definitely made the plane ride home much more bearable.
I can’t complete this blog post without talking about all of these girls pretty dresses, now can I?
I loved how bright and colorful all of our party dresses were and I am especially loving these printed maxi dresses! Weddings are the perfect excuse to pull out that dress that you can’t possibly where any where else and have fun with it.
I purchased the green dress that I’m wearing from Anthro a few months ago. It’s been hiding in the back of my closet all of this time, waiting to be worn. The Vernalis Maxi Dress is on sale at the moment but it looks like it may be sold out online.
Here is a bit of summer time wedding guest style inspiration….as well as where you can get those pretty ones that my friends are stunning in.
Anthropologie
both of these just hit sale!
Asos
both are right around $100
If shorter dresses are more of your cup of tea, these are some of my favorites in stores at the moment.
Modcloth
SheInside
both of these are around $20!
I thought I would also mention, I’ve purchased a few things from SheInside recently and the dress that I received was actually really great quality for the low price tag. It’s definitely a risk worth taking!
Thanks for letting me share my Tennessee weekend and some style inspiration with you!
