A Fashion Brunch & A Floral Dress

It’s shaping up to be a big week for me! I started an exciting new job on Monday and I’m only working a few more days until we jet out for the holiday weekend to see some good friends of ours get married.   This summer is just flying right on by.
But to pause it for a moment, here’s a bit of this and that from Sunday’s brunch.
This past weekend, my friend Anna and I went to a fashion show and brunch hosted by Tidbits Houston.

We were treated with a delicious brunch menu and an informal fashion show featuring the latest styles from Cakewalk Style, a boutique here in Houston.

Our scrumptious brunch was at Trenza, which is a new restaurant that just opened in the Upper Kirby area.   The restaurant describes its flavors as “Latin dishes with an Indian flair.”

If you couldn’t tell already, one of my absolute favorite things about living in Houston is all of the FOOD here!  Hands down, the best restaurants that I have ever been to are in this city.   Each time we go out to eat is an adventure in itself.  Having such high expectations of the restaurants in town, Trenza’s brunch did not disappoint.
Anna and I started our foray into brunch with the obvious choice of go-to brunch cocktails: Mimosas.

Trenza took a little spin on the traditional OJ mimosa, and we tried interesting flavors such as peach, cucumber melon, and pomegranate.
I’m still not sure which my favorite was!
But they were definitely a welcome change from your regular OJ ones.

Okay.. I think I’ll actually have to settle with my favorite being the cucumber melon. 🙂

After scouring our menu and going back and forth between all of the delightful sounding options, we finally both decided on the the Egg & Chorizo Breakfast Tacos.

We shared sides of Cheddar Cheese Grits and Jalapeño Scalloped Potatoes.   The sides are not pictured because they may have been too tasty for me to even think about pausing for a photo.  ðŸ˜‰
While sipping on our drinks and enjoying the delicious menu, we watched as several models waltzed in between all of the tables, stopping to chat every once in a while to discuss the pieces that they were wearing.
Here is a bit of what they wore:

We weren’t treated to just beautiful clothes, these Presmar clutches were also on display.   I can not tell you how soft the leather felt on these beauties.  If anything was going to come home with me from the style show, it would have been one of these.  Especially that pink one!

And now on to a bit of what I wore.

I snapped these photos before I walked out the door, and before the Houston humidity could catch up with me.

I absolutely love this lightweight summer sundress, and it is such a great length.  You don’t see tea length dresses too often, and they are a nice alternative to maxi dress.  I’d say this is a perfect dress to wear to a garden wedding or you know .. to Sunday brunch!

After brunch, Anna and I hopped across the street to browse Tootsies.  Tootsies is kind of like the Houston equivalent to Barneys or Bloomingdales.
We oohed and ahhed over every single thing in the store, imagining what it would be like to take home one of their stunning designer dresses! But for now, we are happy to settle with good old fashioned window shopping.
