Happy Sunday! Today I’m styling an easy peasy dressy/casual look. In case you haven’t noticed, I love love skirts & dresses. You’ll most likely find me wearing either of the two instead of jeans, any day. Sometimes though, I like to wear skirts (or dresses) without feeling “super dressed up,” if you know what I mean.
That’s why I love dressing “down” my girly skirts with chambray.

Chambray is one of the best things that’s ever happened to my closet. (Truth!) For one, I love topping a maxi dress with a chambray button up, which conveniently turns the dress into a skirt! I also love pairing chambray with dressier skirts, thus making them appropriate for more casual activities. All in all, chambray is easy to style, easy to accessorize, & more often than not – it’s comfortable.
Take this look above. Yes, I have heels on, but the chambray tank brings the look down a notch or two, making it perfect for an impromptu Sunday brunch with the family.
Also, who all noticed the fun owls printed all over this skirt from Mika Rose!? They are definitely well hidden, if you don’t look close, you’ll miss them! But once you see them, you can not un-see them! One of my gal pals up in Knoxville is oobbssessed with owls, it’s a fun quirk of hers, which I love. So I simply can’t wear this skirt without thinking of her. 🙂
As we head into the last full week before Labor Day Weekend, I plan on wearing all of my summer favorites to the office each day. Does anybody else like to max out their summer whites & floral sundresses as much as I do before the first Monday of September? Here’s to the last “official” week of summer style!
As always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
