A gingham print & peplum combined into one top? It’s like it was made for me!
Getting ready for work in the mornings, I navigate towards structured, flattering & comfortable pieces. This top is just that! The peplum shape slims the waist, emphasizes an hourglass shape, & looks great with skinny jeans. I also love how peplum tops stand out underneath a jacket or sweater. Maybe these reasons are why it’s my absolute favorite style of top? Easy to wear & stylish as can be!
As summer is yet to be over, I’ve been styling this pretty top with my white denim skinnies. Not one that fully gives into the no white after Labor Day rule, I’m sure I’ll still break out the white jeans again with this top a time or two in September. I’m planning on transitioning this gingham peplum top into fall by styling it with black & blue jeans, pencil skirts, & layering it with darker colored sweaters or jackets.
Speaking of the color white, have y’all seen Kendra Scott’s Mystic Bazaar collection? The silver pieces with the white marble stones are unreal! I haven’t seen this look in many pieces of jewelry before, and I’m kind of obsessed. 😉 It’s my dream to have a white marble countertop kitchen one day. (Thanks Pinterest!) But until then, I’m loving Kendra Scott’s white marble harlow necklace. The Mystic Bazaar collection (inspired by a trip to exotic Dubai) also features similar styles in rose gold, yellow gold & gunmetal.
Okay back to this gingham top! Have y’all noticed that it seems like almost every other blogger on instagram has this top too!? It’s been so fun to see the many different ways all the lovely ladies have styled it. One of my favorite looks that I stumbled upon was this top paired with flared jeans & a floppy hat. Going to have to try that one soon.
Speaking of instagram, seriously, I freaking love that app! Other than for the obvious reasons, I’m especially loving it right now because the bloggers I follow have been posting some pretty fun stuff lately. (Outfit inspiration with pieces that I own for one.) And just the other day, I was scrolling through my feed and found a recipe for white peach summer salad. The photo looked de-lic-ious! Consisting of (don’t quote me) white peaches, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes, & basil. Conveniently already having almost all of the ingredients in my kitchen, I’m planning on whipping it up later this week!
Summer isn’t over just yet, so I’m planning on maxing out the rest of the season with summery dishes, summery outfits, and a whole lot of summery activities. (Pool days, BBQs, Miller Outdoor Theater Nights.) Is summery a word? Not sure, but I’m, using it!
School may have started where you live & fall clothes may be available in every store. But are you embracing the rest of summer with open arms too? We still have quite a bit left! I’d love to hear the rest of your summer plans! 🙂
As always thanks for stopping by the blog, have a great hump-day!
