Hello there 2020, it’s nice to see you! While it would only be fitting for my first blog post of the new year to be filled with reflections and resolutions, I’m going to spare you all on that topic today. And instead talk about my favorite winter weekend looks. But … I will let one resolution slide on in, for good measure, and that is to focus more on being present with family. We’ve had such a shift in our lives since moving to Tennessee and family time has become more of a priority for us than ever before. After so many years living so far away, I couldn’t be more thankful that the stars aligned and we’re back home with the ones we love most.
Speaking of family, did I tell you all that my younger brother now acts as my full-time blog photographer? He’s been snapping the majority of the content I’ve posted on here including these shots in today’s post too! So let’s all give a round of applause to my brother Tom – because I couldn’t do this blogging thing without you!
Anywho, now onto the topic of fashion – winter fashion specifically. Sharing another take on dressing for Memphis’ much cooler temps in a stylish & oh-so-comfortable way below!
My Go To Winter Weekend Looks

Today’s outfit is one I’ll probably find myself re-wearing all season long. This oversized paint-splattered button-down from Anthropologie is as soft as my cotton pajamas and actually feels more comfortable too. Explaining to my husband that paint-splattered anything was actually chic & worth the price tag of this top wasn’t the most comfortable thing however ha, but he certainly approved of the fit & feel of it when I showed it off to him. I, for one, feel as if I’m channeling an oil-painting artist’s persona whenever I wear this billowy button-down. If a piece of clothing makes you feel great, then who’s to argue with you?!
I topped my button-down with this plaid coat – also from Anthro & currently on major sale – my go-to jeans and a pair of leather Birdies. I was recently been introduced to Birdies over the Christmas break and since slipping into this pair, I’ve found I’ve gravitated towards wearing only my Birdies ever since. Birdies stand out from the shoe crowd because they are lined inside with 7 layers of comfort quilting. You can 100% feel the difference as soon as you step inside the shoes.
What are the pieces you are gravitating towards wearing over & over this time of year!?
