It’s the middle of the week. And, wow, this one is just dragging! I was supposed to head down to Fredericksburg for a press trip to visit the city and see old friends this week. But life happens and a few things came up causing me to cancel my participation shortly before jetting off. Turns out fate was hankering for me to stay home anyway. A pipe burst in our basement which caused it to flood. Sending all aspects of life into chaos for our little family. I can’t imagine Patrick and Annie having to deal with that major hiccup without me here too.
Anywho, on a more fashionably related note, I wanted to chat today about the winter essentials I’ve been rotating the most in my wardrobe so far this season. For the most part, I do tend to like bolder prints and intricate pieces but I’ve forced myself to invest in beautiful basics to wear on the in-between days when I just want to don something simple and comfortable.
So today, I’m dishing the five basics I know I’ll be wearing on repeat all season long. I’m also spilling why this oh-so-beautiful coat from Everlane stands out from the crowd – not only in my wardrobe but all other coats across the web too! More below …
My 5 Wardrobe Winter Essentials
Sleek Western Booties
I have quite a collection of boots and booties – a weakness of mine if I’m being honest! But what makes this particular pair by Everlane stand out from the rest is their sleek sophisticated silhouette. Many pairs already in my closet have more of a laid back, cowgirl boho feel – which I adore. But I particularly love how these booties make me feel a bit more dressed up & pulled together for a night out or upscale event.
A Black Knotted Headband
Nine times out of ten – I leave my house with a headband atop my head. I swapped my linen and woven headbands for darker shades and knit options as soon as the season changed. This classic black knot headband is the one I’ll grab most as it goes with just about everything & doesn’t make too much of a statement – blending in a bit with my darker locks.
A Sweater So Soft You Could Scream
I mean, scream with pleasure because it really is seriously is that soft. This crewneck pullover sweater is also an Everlane find. (Everlane offers the most amazing basics, y’all. I’m always so impressed by the quality and craftsmanship.) What makes it extra special is that it is made from Alpaca giving this winter knit a plush and airy feel. I’ve never owned a sweater that’s both light and airy while also warm and cozy.
My sweater is under $100 and comes in nine different colors to choose from. I’m wearing the Charcoal Twist shade because I thought it would be the most versatile for my wardrobe.
A Classic Wool Coat
I have invested in my fair share of coats this winter. After all, I went almost a decade without the need of one so it is no surprise to myself I’m going all in this season! I initially sparked my winter coat spree in search of statement styles such as this plaid one and this faux fur leopard print. I would come to find whenever I wanted to wear a bold dress or top – it would clash with many of the colorful coats in my closet.
This classic simple tan wool coat from Everlane is now an essential in my wardrobe – especially for when I’m wearing something underneath that makes a statement all its own. This Italian wool coat stands out from the crowd because it is made using recycled wool. It really is lovely to know the raw materials of this beautiful coat have been used to keep someone else warm once before me.
Everlane prides itself on its transparency on creating garments in the finest materials from the best ethical factories around the world. I’m not only inspired by the way Everlane does business but I’m also inspired to shop there more often too – knowing the story behind the classic essentials I’m adding to my wardrobe.

In an effort to be more transparent myself, Everlane gifted me the above items (the Mother – denim I purchased) in exchange for an honest review should I wish to share my thoughts. As soon as I tried every piece on and took them for a spin around town I couldn’t wait to share my feelings on these lovely winter essentials with you all! I also couldn’t wait to repeat this outfit again the next day … and a few days later. And even a few more days later too. It’s so simple, chic and comfortable!

As always, thanks for stopping by the blog and following along with my everyday adventures. Y’all mean the world to me!
