Yesterday was a pretty exciting day for The Lone Star Looking Glass!
If you’re following me on Instagram, you just might have noticed that I (along with 4 other fab Houston bloggers) took over LiketoKnow.it’s Instagram account for #LTKTakeoverTuesday!
The five of us Houstonians showed off our city, our fashions and our own personal flare in a 10 photo takeover.

For our Houston city takeover, I knew I had to pick just the right places – both very pretty locations & spots that I loved so much.
I couldn’t wait to share them with 1.6 million peeps!
I am such a nature lover who wishes to be outdoors at all times, so I knew right away I needed to find a spot that showed off Houston’s greenery.
Let’s be honest, this isn’t something that Houston is really well known for!
Buffalo Bayou Park lies right in the heart of the city and is filled with hiking trails, biking trails, a massive dog park, as well as skyline views that can’t be beat!
I had so much fun shooting here, bright and early before work on Monday morning. (Someone asked me recently how I balanced my blog and a full time job … the answer? Waking up very EARLY & lots of coffee!)
I’ve been on a Free People kick lately. I haven’t shopped there too much in the past but it’s like I’ve recently fallen in love all over again.
I am loving this flowy tunic top, which I actually think is really probably a dress….
But on a chilly morning, and to make it work appropriately, I threw on a pair of jeans underneath making it that much more comfortable.
Come warm summer days, I am sure this “dress” will be worn as it was intended.

Accessories for this bohemian southwestern inspired look were fun to pick: my favorite tall boots & a fringe clutch!
I was thrilled that I not only had one, but two opportunities to share my style and my favorite places in Houston with so many people yesterday.
Later this week (or next depending on this gal’s busy schedule) I’ll go into detail on outfit number two and why I chose 19th street as my second favorite spot in all of Houston!
