It’s no secret that I looooove me my True Religion jeans. Once I found out that I was expecting, I was a little bummed to think that I couldn’t wear all of my favorite jeans throughout my entire pregnancy. (Small price to pay for the wonderful bundle of joy we’re having, I completely agree!)
But after trying out a few “hacks” I realized I definitely could still wear my favorite pairs regular jeans well into my pregnancy. Click through to see how!
How to Wear Regular Jeans While Pregnant:

The Rubber Band Trick for your Regular Jeans
Ah, the beloved rubber band trick. I’ve been using this since around week nine, when my skinnies were starting to feel quite snug!
Simply grab a hair rubber band, loop it through the button hole, then back around the button – and ta-da – you have 2-4 extra inches of stretch added on to the waistline.
Just be sure to wear a longer top that covers everything up. 🙂
I can’t resist a good pair of distressed denim. So as soon as I found out I was pregnant, I ordered True Religion’s Halle Super Skinny Jeans in a size bigger than my regular size, knowing I’d get more wear out of them this way, both before & after baby.
By sizing up, they’re a bit more like “skinny boyfriend jeans” … which is all the more comfortable!
Opt for Denim Leggings when Pregnant
Denim leggings are a thing … and they’re amazing. They’re exactly what they sound like, stretchy denim with a legging-like waistband. What makes True Religion’s Runway Leggings stand out (and great for a growing belly) is the fact that the leg part feels and looks like regular denim, (nothing like your yoga pants) but it still comes with a super stretchy waistline.
By just looking at them, you’d never guess that they were, in fact, leggings!
Peek a boo!
As my belly has gotten bigger, I’ve been wearing the waistline of my leggings a bit lower than I probably would otherwise. It’s just more comfortable this way. So I compensate the low-rise waist with a long cami tucked in underneath!
And a big flowy top to cover things up, of course!
{PS: this top is actually a dress! Lambillotte has the most gorgeous linen dresses for late summer & fall.}

So while in many of these photos, I’ll admit, I don’t actually look that pregnant. (I’m thinking it’s because they’ve all been shot straight on.) But as soon as I turn to the side, BOOM! You can totally see baby!
I never thought that while I was pregnant, I’d live in my jeans. I just always imagined I’d be in flowy dresses or comfy maternity knit dresses. But by hacking my favorite jeans to be just as comfortable as they were before, I’m now rocking them for as long as I can!
If you’re a mom-to-be or already a momma, what were your favorite things to wear while you were expecting? This has been such a fun style journey for me and I’d love to hear how it went for you! And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
