Cheers to being one year older today! What are the chances that baby girl and I will share a birthday!? I mean, I could totally get down for some joint birthday dinners at the American Girl Doll restaurant in the next few years. We’ll see what she decides to do!
In the meantime, I’m sharing one of my favorite embroidered dresses that I wore as a top throughout my pregnancy plus my bucket list for my 28th year of life. All can be found below!
Whew, now that was a windy shoot! When we shot these photos, we were practically blowing away from the wind. Hence the hand in the hair in almost every single shot. Gotta tame those locks somehow!
This dress/top from Chicwish is less than $60 & has seriously made my last trimester all the better. I’ve been able to wear it on so many different occasions and it’s been super comfortable too. Everything’s more comfortable when paired with leggings, right? I’m also looking forward to styling this dress with both over-the-knee boots and sandals in the weeks to come, post baby!
So in other news, today is my 28th birthday!! My head has completely been wrapped around the fact that our little one is due this week that when I stop and think, wow it’s my birthday week too … it’s just all sorts of crazy! I took off work for the week thinking that our bundle of joy would be here, but now that she’s not I’m finding myself a wee bit stir crazy. Thank goodness for moms!! My mom is currently on a plane flying down and the two of us plan to spend the day adventuring around Houston. (While also waiting to see when little one will show up!)
Last year at this time, I shared a bucket list for my 27th year of life. Funnily enough, I was able to check off 90% of that list. Thought I’d try it again. So I’m crossing my fingers I do just as well with this one for 28!
Bucket List/Goals for 28
- Be a wonderful mom!
- Take little one on lots & lots of walks. Bonus points if they’re with other mommas & at the park.
- Figure out how to (successfully) meal plan.
- Cook dinner at home more often, with said successful meal plan.
- Blog goals – finally create an email newsletter & attend a conference or two.
- Hike Palo Duro Canyon with my little family. We have plans to visit in April!
- Spend as much time with out of town family as possible.
- Take baby to the beach at some point. {Mainly so I can just see her in a cute itty bitty baby bikini. ;-)}
- More date nights with Patrick!
- & more girls nights out too. 😉
- Eat healthier!
- Travel A LOT. From weekend getaways to long visits home, I’m hoping to have just as an action-packed year as I did last year. I mean, traveling with a baby can be easy, riiiiight!?
- House goals: update our master bedroom.
- Read more books!
- Explore more of Houston. With all the exhaustion from baking a baby, we didn’t get out & about as much in the latter part of 2016. Definitely looking forward to getting back to exploring our city!
- CAMPING! Sleeping outside in the middle of nowhere is my favorite thing in the world. With zika on the loose, all of our camping trips were nixed last year. Hoping to make up for it this year!
- Volunteer more often.
- Give back to the new mom’s to-be all of the sage advice that sweet mom friends have given to me! From late night questions via text to baby registry tips/must haves, I couldn’t have done this pregnancy without the advice and guidance from several special ladies in my life! Looking forward to being that friend for any who need me down the road.
Some of these bucket list items are a bit sillier than others. But writing things down with the plans to implement them, make them that much more likely to happen. So cheers to 28 and all the new adventures that will come with it!
And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
