Date nights out are so special for Patrick and me. Mostly because they tend to be few and far between! We don’t have any family in Houston and spontaneous date nights are tough when sitters aren’t always available. But when we do plan in advance and make it all happen, those date nights hit it out of the park!
I love getting all dolled up for my hubbie and spending one-on-one time with just him. We always have the best conversations over a dinner with no distractions! Today I’m sharing a really fun date night idea that’s a little bit pampering, a little bit style and a whole lot of fun at River Oaks Shopping Center. Head on down for more!
Freshen Up Your Locks at Full Blown Dry Bar
Let’s be honest, I hardly have time to shower on my own these days. Mom life! So if I ever get an opportunity for a blowout, I’m going to totally take it! Plus, there’s something about having a good hair day that can give you all of the confidence in the world, ya know?
Full Blown Dry Bar just opened up in River Oaks Shopping Center. You can pop in for a wash and blow out and also a makeup application too. While you’re not lifting a finger you can sip on a complimentary cocktail and relax in style.
Scoop Up a Stylish Outfit at Saint Cloud
Same with how a good hair day can make you feel like a million bucks – so does a new outfit! Or is that just me!? I love getting dressed up to the nines for girl’s nights out and big events with Patrick. But sometimes, I feel just as alluring in a pair of jeans and heels. I also think Patrick prefers it when I’m dressed a bit more laid back too. Love this round up of date night outfit ideas that guys love too!
Saint Cloud in River Oaks Shopping Center has so many fall transitional styles to choose from that will work both now and later in these hot Houston temps. Their jean selection is out of this world and I couldn’t get over how many gorgeous pieces from local creators were scattered throughout the boutique. This upscale boutique offers gorgeous pieces that will stand up over time and be the things you pull from over & over in your closet – which makes the higher price point worth it in the long run.
About the Look:
I opted for a swoon-worthy white lace top and boyfriend jeans from Saint Cloud for date night. I also dressed up my denim (these boyfriend jeans are a new label to the shop!) with a pair of my favorite black heels that nicely matched this shiny circle crossbody bag also from Saint Cloud. Have a Pan-Latin Dinner at Americas
If you are wanting a dark, intimate, candle-at-your-table romantic dinner, then Americas is for you! This Pan-Latin dining experience not only delights in the food but also in every other little detail you’ll find at this delicious restaurant. From the decor to the chairs to even the plantain and salsa appetizer that is served with your meal, you’ll feel whisked away to somewhere far away over dinner at Americas. I know I did!
My favorite thing to do when going out to eat is to order several things and share with each other. We split the Petite Churrascuro and the Pollo Encamasido – a plantain crusted chicken sitting on a bed of black beans! Both were absolutely delicious!

Cap the Night off at the Theatre
River Oaks Theatre is a historic movie theater located smack dab in the middle of River Oaks Shopping Center. The theatre typically plays artsy or indie films, documentaries and occasionally old classic films that stand the test of time. Right now they’re even showing Office Space! Who doesn’t love that movie!? I think it’s so much fun to go back and see some of your favorite movies on the big screen once more. You know going in you’ll love the movie plus you get movie theater popcorn too!

What are some of your favorite ways to do date night with your significant other?! I’m making a goal this season to schedule at least one or two nights out on the town a month with Patrick. Just a few hours of one-on-one time and doing something out of our routine makes all the difference in the world!
