A Kid-Friendly Getaway at The Woodlands Resort

I’m all about taking any and every excuse for a getaway. If the hubbie can’t join me, then sign me up for a girl’s weekend away! Better yet if it’s mom friends who ALSO want to tote their tots along! The travel bug inside me seems to not want to disappear any time soon.

This summer a few of my friends and I corralled our tiny toddlers and headed up north to The Woodlands Resort. This luxury wooded resort comes complete with multiple pools, a lazy river, fine dining, gold, waterfront views & more. I was seriously blown away that this oasis was less than an hour from my front door in Houston. Sharing a peek into our recent stay and why I think The Woodlands Resort is one of the best places in Texas to splash around while on vacation with your kids!

The Wooldands Resort Hotel Review

The Guest Rooms

The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center boasts over 400 guests rooms on its property. These thoughtfully designed retreats blend into the natural splendor of the resort while also evoking a rustic modern feel. Our double bed guest room had a beautiful view of the golf course and its balcony made for the perfect view to sip on a glass of vino while watching the sunset.

The (Many) Pools

If you’re bringing your family to The Woodlands Resort, then a visit to the resort’s multiple pools would naturally be at the top of your list. With multiple waterslides to choose from and a relaxing but also quiiiiite turbulent lazy river, the aquatic accommodations at The Woodlands Resort rival that of many water parks.

Our visit to The Woodlands Resort marked Annie’s first experience with water wings. It made splashing around in the baby pool more relaxing than it’s ever been before for this mama!

My sweet friend Margret’s daughter Sofia was having a ball too!

Be Sure to Grab a Scoop of Ice Cream!

A cute and colorful ice cream parlor sits nearby the cafe at The Woodlands Resort. Not only does this pink & white spot make for a great photo op, but gives mamas an opportunity to treat their sweeties. With sweats of course!

After a few recent fiascos with the nature of chocolate ice cream, we’re going lighter shades of ice cream these days lol. Annie loved the coconut sorbet just as much as I did!

All our kiddos feasting on their treats! I was so thrilled to spend the weekend away with blogger friends and kiddos!

If you have a moment, check out my friends Annie, Rebekah & Margret. Their style is sure to stop you in your tracks! Plus, these girls are just plain sweethearts!

Rock Your Resort Style

Whenever I travel, I end up packing & wearing pieces from the depths of my wardrobe I probably wouldn’t wear at home. From colorful coverups to mini dresses and bold earrings, for some reason, resorts make just want to up my fashion game! Linked this resort style look for y’all below! Ps: my red dress/cover-up/tunic (whatever you want it to be) is less than $30!

A snap of my gals and their littles! The Woodlands Resort treated us to a cabana one afternoon during our visit and it was seriously the greatest gift. If you’re a mom to a tiny tot, then you know how exhausting a pool day can be. These cabanas were a game changer! We would take breaks from taking a dip to munch on snacks while sitting back and relaxing to the likes of Minne & Mickey Mouse on our cabana TV screens. The kids also posted up on the comfy chairs and were content to sit for a second or two. And let’s be honest, a relaxed and content toddler REALLY makes for quite the vacation!!

Right now, you can book a stay at The Woodlands Resort and opt for a late check out on your last day. (Which means more time to snack on ice cream and swim in the pool, right?!!) With many families starting school soon, there is still time to squeeze in a quick getaway or plan for Fall Break. Do you like to take any opportunity to getaway too!?

As always, thanks for stopping by the blog! And thanks so much to The Woodlands Resort for hosting us this summer. We truly had the best time!
