Sleep Like a King at The Guest House at Graceland

Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, when I hear the term “The King” I naturally think of none other than the King of Rock n’ Roll himself, Elvis Presley. Elvis is a cultural and musical icon not just to those who live in Memphis but his voice and talent has left an impression on generations throughout the entire world.

Thousands of visitors from all corners of the globe make the pilgrimage to Graceland each and every year. It truly is a sight to see and a destination that should be added to everyone’s travel bucket list. (See a recent trip of mine here!)  Just last year, The Guest House at Graceland opened its doors as a resort-style Elvis-themed hotel situated just a next door from the King of Rock n’ Roll’s Tennessee mansion. I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a few days at The Guest House last month and I’m so excited to share a glimpse into my stay with y’all.

Even better than that … I’m thrilled to be giving away a stay at The Guest House Graceland to one of you guys too! Head on down for more details on my special giveaway & to see the full post.

The Grand Staircase

No corner is left untouched at The Guest House Graceland when it comes to all of the special details highlighting the King of Rock n’ Roll’s charisma, tastes, and legacy.

For example, If you’ve ever been inside Elvis Presley’s Graceland, then you’ll recognize this famous staircase that sits front and center in the entry hall. The Guest House at Graceland had the iconic staircase recreated encouraging Elvis enthusiasts to step up and snap a photo on the King’s very own staircase.

A Rock n’ Roll Lobby

The hotel lobby is finished in luxurious fabrics and bold colors with retro Seventies style accents – in line with Elvis’ home at Graceland. Like I mentioned above, literally, no detail is spared in this Elvis-themed resort. The lobby chairs above were designed to mimic the swing of Elvis’ hand that he was famous for while dancing in all of his concerts. Can’t you just see Elvis Presley with one arm up in the air when you look at that chair!?

And it may have been July, but the resort was fully decked out for Christmas! We were so surprised to see that Hallmark Channel was on-site filming a Christmas special at Graceland. We heard from members of the staff that we missed the front lawn frosted in fake snow by just a few days! Now wouldn’t that have been a fun surprise to roll up to upon check-in!?

Feast Like A King

The Guest House at Graceland houses several eateries on site. There’s a coffee shop, appropriately named Shake Rattle & Go. With its tasty treats & light bites, it makes the perfect place to grab a quick cappuccino on-the-go. EP’s Bar & Grill is a casual eatery with funky decor offering modern twists on some of Elvis’ favorite foods. This is where to go for those famous Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwiches Elvis was known to love!

For a bit of finer fare, Delta’s Kitchen really hits the spot. This Southern Style Kitchen has an upscale feel come dinnertime serving guests delicious cuisine inspired by the region.

My family all still lives in Memphis. So even though Patrick and I were staying across town at The Guest House at Graceland, the whole McLallen Clan (my side of the fam) headed on down to dine at the closest thing to Elvis Presley’s home that they could. We all chatted away, laughing for hours, catching up over this delicious dinner! It honestly was one of my favorite parts of our entire stay.

That and Annie trying on her famous EP style gold sunglasses!

Get All Shook Up in the Lobby Lounge

I was sooo excited to say cheers to the weekend in the blue-toned lobby lounge at the Guest House at Graceland. Normally when we travel, Annie goes down for the night pretty early … and so do we. But we were in Memphis! Which means my lovely parents were able to hang out in our room with Annie. (They were thrilled!) After dinner, Patrick, my brothers and I toasted to being together while Elvis tunes echoed in the lobby lounge and it was such a special treat!

Have a Little Less (or More) Conversation in the Luxurious Guestrooms

There are 430 guest rooms and 20 spacious specialty-themed suites at the Guest House. Upon check-in, we were upgraded from a standard room to a themed suite and when I walked in … I’m pretty sure my jaw just dropped to the floor. See why below!

A seventies style gold & blue living room (with a fabulous blue velvet couch) greeted us as we opened the guestroom door. The mirrored ceilings and glam accents are exactly what you would picture if you could go back in time to a 1970s music superstar’s recording studio space. It’s no wonder my whole family decided that they would much rather hang out with us at The Guest House at Graceland than head back so soon to their home in Memphis!

Again, no detail was left untouched. Check out the fabulous blinging tile behind the soaking tub. So fun, y’all!

Saturday morning arrived and we were in absolutely no rush to leave our spacious and stylish digs. So we turned on Elvis tunes (a touch of the button on the room’s tv takes you straight to it) and ordered room service. Breakfast takes bedder in a bed with a lightning bolt on the headboard, if I do say so myself. 😉

You Can’t Help Falling in Love .. With This Pool

Whenever I visit Memphis, I always have loads of old friends I want to see & favorite haunts growing up I want to re-visit. This leaves little room for relaxation on many trips to M-town. But we made a point during this visit to spend a big chunk of time at The Guest House at Graceland’s pool. It was like taking a dip in the actual pool that sits in the backyard of Graceland Mansion. However, this one included colorful pool noodles for guests to use!

My little fam! <3

The Guest House at Graceland offers so much more than luxurious rooms, colorful restaurants all with a nostalgic nod to the king. There is ample outdoor space to sit, relax, and soak up the Southern sunshine too. Before dinner each night, we would run around in the courtyard with Annie, letting her blow off that endless amount of toddler energy. Its so nice when a resort has ample places to explore and play during your stay.

And speaking of play! A visit to the Guest House at Graceland is not complete without a tour of the King’s mansion itself next door. A shuttle runs every thirty minutes from the resort straight to the ticket office at Graceland. I’ve done the tour multiple times and can’t say enough great things. Even if you’re not a massive Elvis fun (say what?!) you will certainly leave one! His legacy is shown through his love of his home, his family, his music … and his cars too!

Okay y’all, now I’m homesick and need to plan another trip to Memphis! Who’s coming with me!? Speaking of which …

I’m so excited to be GIVING AWAY a stay at Guest House at Graceland!!

To enter, head on over to my Instagram account early this evening where I’ll be posting ALL the details.

Big thank you to The Guest House at Graceland for providing us with our stay. As always, all opinions are my own. Thanks to you guys for supporting the brands that make Lone Star Looking Glass possible.
