There’s a New Flower Child in Houston

Flower Child is a name that was given to the hippie generation of the 1970s. And it’s also the moniker for a new health-focused eatery in Houston that I have a feeling I will be frequenting quite often from now on. I tried this colorful foodie spot while in Phoenix and fell in love. So when I found out it opened from Houston, I most certainly had to stop by and pay a visit the very first week!

Not only that, but I took my lunch break as an opportunity to dress up my inner Flower Child self and donned an outfit that the 70s hippie generation would be proud of, I’m sure.

More on this tasty restaurant and my look below!

Flower Child is an order at the counter eatery with a casual vibe, while also being an Instagram lover’s dream. The green & white decor inside and out is worth a visit to oooh & ah over alone!

What I Ate

I’ve only tried a few things on their menu. And I will say, their children’s menu options are some of the best I’ve ever seen!

But I knew exactly what I was going to order before I even stepped foot on the less than a week old restaurant’s premises. The Skinny Cobb Salad with chicken. I tried this tasty dish for the first time in Phoenix and I kid you not … have been dreaming about that gorgonzola salad dressing ever since!! (It’s kinda like a Caesar and kinda like a blue cheese … and all kinds of good!)  I’ll be surprised if I ever try something new on the menu … I’m that obsessed with this dish. But crazier things have happened!

What I Wore

Long before I ever had any plans of dressing like a Flower Child at … Flower Child, I fell head over heels for these overalls from Show Me Your Mumu. If you consider yourself to have any sort of bohemian style whatsoever, (or really just style for that matter) I think you’re going to love the brand Show Me Your Mumu just as much as I do! This dreamy bohemian brand offers flowy dresses, tops, bell-bottom jeans, and a plethora of accessories that you’ll want to stock up on before your next music festival. (Or just for a trip to the grocery store if you’re like me!)

I paired these larger than life overalls with a cropped bell sleeve top … and just like that – I’m ready for fall! Now if only those 95+ degree temps will go along with me.

On another note, are you a culprit of ordering the same dish over and over at your favorite restaurants or do you often like to try something new? I really need to explore more of the menu at some of my favorite places but my goodness … when I fall for something I fall hard!

And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
