Patrick and I have spent several Christmases at home here in Houston. However, this is the first year that out of town family will be joining us for the occasion! My family will be making the trek from Tennessee to spend Christmas Day with us in Texas. This is the first time they’ve EVER left Memphis for the holiday and I kind of think a little 2 ft. tall toddler named Annie might have something to do with it. Hehe! I am so so excited to host everyone this year and I just couldn’t wait until Christmas Eve to share with you my big holiday dinner menu!
Today, I’m teaming up with ALDI and sharing how I created a delicious holiday dinner menu … all under $80 dollars too! And the best part? I didn’t even have to leave my house to shop for groceries. (Right now, first-time ALDI Instacart shoppers can receive $10 off their first three ALDI orders of $35 or more with the code ALDIFAN too!) I’m planning on serving each and every dish I’m mentioning below on Christmas Eve in just a few short weeks. More on this feast and how it was delivered to my door below …
Using Instacart to Get ALDI Delivered to Your Door
Lily and Marigold were just as excited as I was to receive all of our groceries from our own front door. Houston shoppers can now use Instacart to order their ALDI groceries online and have them delivered in just a couple of hours or up to a week later. I started using Instacart just last month (you can see my Friendsgiving feature here) and now I can never go back to what life was like before. I think I’ve ordered at least four to five separate deliveries in just this past month alone!
Ordering groceries from ALDI is so simple on Instacart.com. You type in what you are looking for and choose from all of the different options available. Finding the exact ingredient and the specific amount you need is so simple too. In addition to the whole “not leaving your house thing,” I also love that Instacart makes staying on a budget a whole lot easier. You can see the total price of your cart adjust each time you add something new.
I was able to order every single ingredient that I needed for this four-course holiday dinner under $80 too! I know in the past I’ve spent almost triple that amount on holiday groceries purchased from other supermarkets. I kind of wanted to do a little fist pump in the air after hitting purchase, knowing that I was able to find everything and save a bunch too. Right now, first-time ALDI Instacart shoppers can receive $10 off their first three ALDI orders of $35 or more with the code ALDIFAN.
Kerley Family Holiday Dinner Menu
Parmesan Artichoke Dip
Cranberry Goat Cheese Salad
Honey Maple Glazed Ham
Squash Casserole & Garlic Green Beans
Triple Berry Pie
Squash Casserole
Now to dive into this dinner menu with y’all! After putting the ham in the oven I started on the Squash Casserole, knowing this would need to bake for a while. This is one of my favorite sides to make for a big meal. Maybe because it involves a whole lottttt of cheddar cheese!
Triple Berry Pie
Next up was the pie. I bought enough ingredients to make two. I used ALDI’s pre-made Belmont Deep Dish Pie Shells which saved me oodles of time in the kitchen. I also used ALDI’s Bake House Creation Crusts to make the lattice top. Initially, I thought I would make everything from scratch but when I was browsing around on Instacart I saw these options available and oh my goodness they made the baking experience so much easier!
Setting a Festive Table
Right before everything came out of the oven, you know I had so much fun setting up my table!! I’ll take any excuse to throw a dinner party. I also love to style my favorite dishes and linens in festive ways depending on the occasion. Many of the pieces I used were the same ones I shared in my Friendsgiving feature – but with a few spruces of berry and holiday florals, the table is totally transformed.
And now for the pièce de résistance, the spiral ham!
