Who else is counting down the days until Turkey Day!? We’re heading out of town next week to spend the holiday with far away family. But before that, we’re celebrating “Friendsgiving” in style with good friends here in Houston. We’ve been invited to a few Friendsgiving parties next weekend and I’m here to share with y’all the two tasty recipes we plan on bringing in partnership with ALDI.
ALDI is making my holiday grocery shopping SO much easier this year. Starting today, Houston ALDI shoppers can have their groceries delivered straight to their doors with Instacart. I was able to try the service over the weekend and I am here to say that because of it … my life is now changed forever! More below …
One of the reasons why I love shopping at ALDI is because I know I can always find exactly what I’m looking for while saving money too. ALDI offers a wide selection of groceries with seasonal products that make any time of year extra-special – but especially the holiday season.
As an on-the-go mom, we seem to make trips to the grocery store at least once a week. And now that Annie is little “Miss Independent,” she has decided that she is completely over sitting in the child’s seat of the shopping carts. This, as you can imagine, makes visits to the grocery store quite a bit more difficult.
So I’m basically squealing with delight inside now that ALDI can be delivered via Instacart. Instacart offers users an easy shopping experience in the comforts of home. You can fill your virtual cart by either visiting Instacart.com/aldi (or downloading the Instacart app) and choose a delivery window that works best with your schedule. I love that you have the option for groceries to be delivered in just an hour or even to schedule them to arrive as far as a week out. Instacart’s team of personal shoppers grab your goodies and update you throughout the process if they have questions, need to make a substitution, or just to tell you they’ll be arriving soon.
Everything we needed for our two recipes and more were delivered to our door by the sweetest Instacart team member. Our personal shopper helped bring the grocery bags while informing us which specific items were in certain bags too. Throughout the delivery process, I was in total awe that I could be cozied up in my house, with my fuzzy slippers still on, while the grocery shopping was being done for me instead of by me. (I mean seriously, having Annie’s Little Journey Diapers and Wipes show up to my door along with all of our groceries is such a win!)
Speaking of two recipes, this Friendsgiving we’re serving our pals a sweet side dish and a savory appetizer. Both are easy as pie and I’ve got the Friendsgiving recipes below!
Easy and Delicious Friendsgiving Recipes:
Sweet Potato & Cranberry Casserole
Sweet potatoes are a delicious warm-weather vegetable and a staple on the Thanksgiving table. I knew I wanted to whip up a sweet potato dish that not only tasted great but also looked beautiful and delectable too. And let’s be honest, showing up to Friendsgiving with a dish you’re proud of is half the fun!
This tasty side dish involved minimal prep and I was even able to sit back and read a bit of my book while it was baking too! The best part (other than eating it, of course) was how delicious the house smelled once we popped this dish out of the oven.
Cranberry Goat Cheese Log & Crackers
If you’re not the baking type or just prefer easy Friendsgiving recipes, this appetizer is for you! This Specially Selected Hand Rolled Goat Cheese Log is topped with cranberry cinnamon and come pre-made. The only “cooking” required is taking the goat cheese log out of its packaging and setting it on a plate. Seriously simple! I surrounded the goat cheese with an assortment of crunchy crackers that were delivered to my door from ALDI too.
I couldn’t resist getting a little festive by incorporating a few pumpkins into my table setting this time of year! I also had a few oranges to spare from the Sweet Potato & Cranberry Casserole recipe, so I used them as decor too. Have you ever used fruits or vegetables to spruce up your table setting!?
Like I mentioned above, the ease of Instacart has truly changed my life! I can shop for my groceries online while sipping my coffee in a robe and slippers. And with the hectic holiday season in full swing, Instacart makes it easier than ever to create your very own Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving shopping list with ALDI.
I’m so excited to share the special code ALDIFAN for $10 off your first three ALDI orders of $35 or more. Such huge savings, y’all!! I think after this I will be doing all of my grocery shopping from the comforts of home going forward, what about you!?

Big thank you to ALDI for providing us with the goodies to create these delicious recipes and sponsoring this blog post. As always, all opinions are my own. Thank you to you all for supporting the brands that make Lone Star Looking Glass possible.
