March has been a whirlwind travel month in the Kerley household. With a few weekend getaways and a big spring break adventure filling our calendar – I truly feel that I haven’t sat still until this very moment! (Where I’m at home writing this blog post.) Today, I’m talking about recent travels and how I’ve kept up my hair routine along the way with Pantene.
I’ve been using Pantene products throughout the majority of my life. When the team at Pantene approached me to take their 14 Day Challenge, I jumped at the chance! It turned out those 14 days fell on probably the busiest and most adventurous of my year yet. What better way to test out the results of a hair care product when you’re on-the-go and exposed to different elements!?
From deep in the heart of Texas to the Carolina Coast, I packed my Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner in my suitcase to spruce up my hair for all of our adventures. After 14 days, I can honestly see and feel such a big difference in my locks. Sharing before and after photos and a bit about my experience along the way, below!
Pantene is all about giving women more great hair days. They shared an interesting fact with me – According to a recent Yale University study, only 1 in 10 women experience great hair days regularly. How crazy is that!? Great hair days should be the norm and Pantene is on a mission to stop the frequency of bad hair days once and for all.
I participated in the Pantene 14 Day Challenge to put an end to bad hair days and sharing my results after committing to use the Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner for 14 days straight. Let’s just say, this was not going to be the most difficult task because I absolutely love Pantene’s products. The hardest part of the experience was remembering to grab my shampoo & conditioner from the shower after each and every hotel we visited throughout the 14 days. Staying at five different places made this no easy feat for this sometimes-forgetful gal, ha!

Day 1: Fredericksburg, Texas
Patrick and I recently spent a weekend in Fredericksburg, a charming town in the Texas Hill Country. Known for its vineyards, delicious food, and local boutiques, Fredericksburg has become a hotspot destination for romantic weekend getaways. We found the most adorable historic home to rent for our 2-night stay that came complete with an outdoor terrace, soaking tub and vintage-style vanity table.
This precious little nook made for the perfect spot to style my hair for the day after using Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner for the first time. Before the challenge, I will say my hair felt flat and actually a bit rough. I can thank the hot tools + gobs of hairspray and dry shampoo I use on a regular basis for that. So, I was really, really excited to try a product that focuses on moisturizing.
A few snaps from Fredericksburg! Patrick & I did several wine tastings and tours at the local vineyards and had dinner at a traditional Texas steakhouse in town. It really was such a lovely weekend – just the two of us!
Day 7: Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina
The midway point of the 14 Day Challenge fell over spring break. My mom, Annie and I couldn’t resist a weeklong coastal getaway when we were told that Annie’s school was closed for the week. It was my first time as a parent to experience a true “spring break” so of course, I had to take advantage, ha! The 3 of us flew to South Carolina where we rented a car and hopped from Charleston to Myrtle Beach and finally to Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach.
It was such a fun Southern adventure that I will be sharing in much more detail soon. In the meantime, I’ve got a few snaps rounded up here along with this shot of the famous Wrightsville Beach Fishing Pier – where the opening credits to one such Dawson’s Creek tv show were filmed! (I totally fangirled too!)

So here we are at the halfway point of the challenge. This is when I started noticing that my hair felt significantly softer. We had also spent quite a bit of time on the beach during this week and even with the salty air, my hair continued to feel moisturized. Normally that is not the case when I take a beach trip, so this was pretty cool to experience!
Day 14: San Antonio, Texas
I found myself in San Antonio for an impromptu family trip at the end of my 14 Day Challenge. We booked a stay at La Cantera Resort the morning before we left and managed to find an amazing deal since it was such short notice. Oh, my goodness, y’all, this resort was SO dreamy! It may look cloudy and gloomy in the photos, but the weather was in the mid-70s and felt just divine. We were able to relax in rocking chairs on the terrace overlooking the hills and even swim in the infinity pool during our short stay. I definitely want to head back for another visit & soon!
Knowing that we would be swimming in a chlorine-filled pool, my Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner simply had to make the trip with me. I snapped these photos at the end of our stay after a quick shower + blow dry following a dip in the pool.
These pictures are where I can see the biggest difference between the start and finish of the Pantene 14 Day challenge.
I do want to share that these photos are only edited for lighting purposes and nothing else has been enhanced in any way. It’s just no fun looking at a dark photo, so I brightened them up for y’all! I also am candid about the fact that I have been wearing hair extensions this whole time. But the extensions are made of real hair that I shampoo and condition the same way as I do my normal hair.
With that being said, I was so surprised to see these shots of my locks blown up big on my computer screen. They look so full, vibrant and healthy. In pictures snapped prior to the Pantene 14 Day challenge, I can tell my hair was drier and flatter so this before & after just proves the changes its undergone in just 14 days!
Even though my Pantene 14 day challenge has come and gone, that doesn’t mean I will stop using these products. I can only imagine how much healthier, stronger and moisturized my hair will become the more I continue using them. The only thing that will be different is I’ll be showering in my very own bathroom going forward!! lol
We’re home for a good while and it already feels so great to be settled once more.
