If you told me a few years ago that I would one day be blogging about how I like to clean our house … I would have been like, “Say what?!” Here’s a bit of truth for you … I don’t like to clean!!! My husband loves it. Thank heavens for him. But once I had a baby, and then she became a toddler, I knew I needed to put my feelings aside and roll up my sleeves. Because if I didn’t make a conscious effort to have the house cleaned on the regular, I’d go mad!

Spring has sprung and with its arrival, we’ve been spring cleaning the house—getting rid of clutter and deep cleaning some of the most “well-loved” areas in our home. Eco-friendly “green” cleaning products are now more important to me than ever—knowing that my two-year-old gets into absolutely EVERYTHING.

What a way to explore the world!

I was recently introduced to Art of Green™, a cleaning solution with non-toxic ingredients that is 98% naturally derived. Their solutions have been dermatologically tested to be safe for sensitive skin which is AMAZING, especially when Annie and I both have really sensitive skin. There are so many reasons I opt for grabbing Art of Green™ to clean my home, and I’m sharing a few below along with how I keep my home clean amid all of life’s everyday chaos.

The Truth About How I Keep My Home Clean

In the effort to be authentic and truthful (which, of course, I always strive to be on here), I will admit that we have a housekeeper. The two sweetest ladies drop by our door to clean our home twice a month. It’s such a blessing!! I don’t know what I would do without these ladies. Having them help me keep our home spick and span gives me more time to spend with Annie and Patrick and devote to my work (and my sanity lol).

We pick and choose the cleaning products for our housekeepers to use in an effort to have a safer & greener home. We keep Art of Green’s line of Multisurface Spray Cleaners, Wipes, and their Multisurface Cleaner on hand—all of which come in a delicious Citrus & White Flowers scent that leaves our house smelling divine!

I love how the Multisurface Spray Cleaner and Multisurface cleaner are paraben-free products come in containers made of recycled materials and the bottles are recyclable themselves.

In Reality … You Can’t ONLY Clean Your House Every 2 Weeks

So yes, I admit it. I have help cleaning the home, and I am SO thankful for it!! But as soon as our housekeeper’s first visit came and went … I quickly realized that our home would not *magically* stay clean during the entire two-week interim. A fun reality check for me! While the baseboards were still shining two days later, the rest of the house looked just as it always did: a beautiful mess.

My #1 Go-To Cleaning Product

Toys everywhere, golden retriever hair piling up in the corners of the hallway, and sticky globs from peanut butter and jelly hands on the dining room table are a part of my everyday life. Thank goodness for wireless vacuums and giant toy bins that blend in with our furniture! But to me, the real MVP is Art of Green™ Multisurface Spray Cleaner Citrus & White Flowers. The spray is so easy to use and covers any surface in a pinch. And let’s be honest, I feel like I’m always in a pinch—chasing my active little girl as she’s on to her next activity. Annie’s high chair, my dining room table, coffee table, TV, TV stand, windows doors, and mirrors would be riddled with handprints each & every day if I didn’t have this multisurface spray in my life!

Remember to Clean The Non-Obvious Spaces

Another thing that housekeepers don’t always do (unless you request it) is deep clean the nitty-gritty, most loved spots of your home. For us, that would be Annie’s toy bin in her bedroom. These toys have been played with over & over, and it’s a safe bet they’ve been slobbered on & spit up on too. Let’s be real. To keep my girl happy, I try to remember to deep clean her toys every other month or so.

This is where Art of Green™ Cleaning Wipes Citrus & White Flowers come in handy the most. I can pick up Annie’s building blocks, toy horses, tambourines, and more and wipe them down clean before she’s ready to start playing with them again. (Which is usually about 5 minutes later!)

A Happy Home is a Healthy Home

In this season of life, the most important thing to me is to have a happy & healthy child and to spend as much quality time with her as possible. Keeping Annie’s space spick and span and knowing she is safe from harmful chemicals puts me at ease—especially when she picks up her little toys to play with!
