What are your plans for the 4th of July this year? We will be heading up to see family in Tennessee and likely spending the majority of the 4th on the road. But that doesn’t mean we won’t celebrate America’s Independence! We’ll probably just do it up on the 5th instead. Each and every year, I love going all out in patriotic shades of red, white and blue. Now that I have a little one to dress up & celebrate with, this summer holiday is all the more fun.

I absolutely adore dressing Annie in cute and colorful Southern smocked-style dresses and bubbles. I practically grew up in the same style of clothing – it’s like it’s coming full circle seeing her dressed that way too. This precious patriotic set is by Cecil & Lou, a Texas-based line of sweet Southern staples for babies and toddlers. I’ve been a fan of this brand for a while now and I love the story behind their collection. It was started by two sisters-in-law who not only share a birthday but also a love for classic Southern fashion.
The bold shade of red and stylish silhouette of my midi dress wooed me as soon as I saw it. The dress is by the brand S/W/F which is known for its bold colors and prints, oversized layering and bohemian flair, all of which are elements I adore! The off-the-shoulder Park Dress I’m styling can be belted to define your waist but I personally like it as is. It certainly makes for a comfortable piece for chasing your tot around on the 4th of July!
