When thinking about a day spent at a theme park, toddler-friendly rides and attractions aren’t always the first thing that pops into mind. More often it’s larger than life thrill rides like roller coasters with steep drops and rides that spin you around so fast you can’t tell up from down. Six Flags Fiesta Texas has both of those, in the form of some of the tallest, fastest and most gut-wrenching rides out there. But you know what else Six Flags Fiesta Texas has? An entire corner of the park dedicated to children under that coveted 48″ height required for those popular thrill rides.
Earlier this summer, I hopped into my SUV with some of my besties and our toddlers for a quick trip to San Antonio to see Six Flags Fiesta Texas. School had just let out for the summer and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate! After spending an entire day in the park with three kiddos ranging in ages from two and a half to four, we got a good grasp on the best activities for our tots. Sharing a peek into our day along with Six Reasons to Vist Six Flags Fiesta Texas with Toddlers this summer below, keep reading!
6 Reasons to Visit Six Flags Fiesta Texas with a Toddler
1. Kids Ages Two and Under are FREE
There’s only a handful of years when our children get in free basically any and everywhere. Six Flags offers its smallest visitor ages two & under free admission. As soon as your tot turns three, that ticket jumps to $69.99.
2. You Can Buy Six Flags Fiesta Texas Tickets in Advance & Save $$
Typically, tickets bought at the park’s gate can run you $89.99 for an adult and $69.99 for a child under 48″. Many times, you can find tickets online or from other retailers for a fraction of the cost. Right now, Six Flags’ website is running a promotion that if you buy 4 passes together, you can get one-day tickets for as low as $54.99! Season passes will bring your day ticket price down to almost 65% less than what it costs everyone else. It definitely saves to buy online in advance!
Another great way to save is by picking up your Six Flags Fiesta Texas tickets in-store at H-E-B. You’ll find the tickets at a steep discount too. You can also grab tickets at H-E-B to other popular Texas attractions such as Sea World and Schlitterbahn.
3. There’s an Entire Section of Six Flags Fiesta TexasDedicated to Young Children
That’s right! Kidzopolis is smack dab in the middle of the park and offers several attractions geared to kiddos under 54″. There are Zoom Jets (similar to Disney’s popular Dumbo ride) a Kiddie Koaster that your tot can ride with an adult if they don’t meet the height requirement and Krazy Kars where your child can get behind the wheel without you having to worry! Kidzopolis comes complete with a playground and snack shack serving up popular children’s dishes to please the smallest members in your group.
A few rides that you won’t find in Kidzopolis that are great for the younger set are the Whistle Stop Train, the Amerigoround Carousel, Daffy’s School Bus Express, and the Crows Nest Ferris Wheel.
4. You Don’t Have to Ride Thrill Rides if You Don’t Want to
Raise your hand if you LOVE roller coasters? Raise your hand if you DID love roller coasters and aren’t so sure anymore? That second person would be me. Isn’t it strange how the older you get a rocky ride just isn’t as fun or thrilling as it once was?! The 20-year-old me would be shocked that the 30-year-old me wasn’t phased a bit about missing out on all of the thrill rides at Six Flags. Visiting the park with a smaller child gets you exempt from feeling like you have to ride the scariest coaster just because you’re at a theme park. A perk I was surprised to find I really liked!
5. You Can Cool Off While Having Fun
It gets hot hot hot in Texas come summer time. Just thinking about the blazing sun bouncing off the asphalt at a Texas theme park has me sweating. Luckily, Six Flags Fiesta Texas offers ample opportunity to cool off during your visit. The park has several water rides guaranteed to rinse you off. We really enjoyed the Gully Washer, a white water rafting experience that left us absolutely drenched but nice and cool! There’s also the log style Bugs’ White Water Rapids that’s a classic.
After you’re all cooled off, you can stay that way with a scoop of ice cream or frozen drink, many of which are sold in stands or carts on almost every corner of the park.
Come summertime, Six Flags Water Park opens its doors to visitors. You’ll find colorful water slides, a lazy river, a Texas-shaped wave pool and even a younger kids VIP area complete with a pirate ship!
6. Pack Small Snacks but Plan to Dine at Six Flags Fiesta Texas
You can’t fuel an adventurous day at the park without food right?! Six Flags Fiesta Texas has numerous dining options available to appease all tastes. During our visit, we grabbed lunch at the Sangerfest Food Hall. This cafeteria-style eatery was perfect for our big group as we could grab completely different options from one another. I was especially impressed with their kids’ meal boxes that came complete with goldfish, a juice box, and even a fruit roll up! Not going to lie, I kind of wanted one myself!
You aren’t allowed to bring your own meals in but if you have small snacks or bottles of water with you, that is typically okay. My diaper bag was filled with gummies, cheese its and juice pouches which were cleared by security upon arrival.

Don’t Forget to Bring These Essentials for Six Flags Fiesta Texas:
A backpack you don’t mind getting wet (you’ll have to carry it on with you on most water rides)
An extra change of clothes for your kiddos (they might not be as cool about drying off after a water ride as you are)
Stroller or wagon ( we opted for the stroller and were SO glad we brought it even though Annie didn’t ride in it the entire time)

Small Assortment of Snacks
Bottles of water or a refillable water bottle
