Let’s take a moment to pause from the daily grind and talk about something that’s purely reserved for evenings, weekends and my favorite thing of all – downtime. What would that be!? WINE! Did you know that wine is made in virtually every country in the entire world? It’s also a beverage that is used to mark momentous occasions. The Declaration of Independence was even toasted with glasses of wine! Making this an extremely thoughtful hostess gift to give when you’re invited to your next party or event.
In collaboration with Chateau Ste. Michelle, I’m chatting about why wine makes a great go-to hostess gift – even for the most simple of occasions. After all, it’s not how you arrive to the party but how you show up! And who doesn’t want to greet a friend bearing a bottle of vino!? I’m sharing more on my favorite summer grape, a bit on this Washington state wine label and a stylish summer outfit I could wear again & again & again … & again I love it so! More below!
Why it’s Important to Give a Thoughtful Hostess Gift
A Gift is a Gesture of Gratitude
Whenever I would get together with my girlfriends in Texas, I would never not bring a bottle of wine to toast to the occasion. Even for the most simple of evenings – book clubs, bachelor viewing parties – a bottle of wine was meant to make the hostess feel appreciated. A bottle of Chateau Ste. Michelle wine makes a great gift because a hostess can opt to serve it to her guests that evening, or if she already has enough beverages prepared it’s a thank you for her to sip on at any time after the get-together.
I Bring an Easy to Find Delicious Wine as my Thoughtful Hostess Gift
It seems I’m always on the go or picking up things last minute. Is that because I’m a toddler mama or just me!? When it comes to grabbing a bottle of wine to take to an event, let’s be honest, I’m running into the store in my high heels 15 minutes before the event starts to find said bottle of wine. This is why I love that I can always count on finding Chateau Ste. Michelle at my local grocery stores. I seem to frequent H-E-B here in Texas the most and I can quickly zero into where my bottle of Sauvignon Blanc sits on the shelf!
Chateau Ste. Michelle’s vineyards are located all the way in Washington State and produce award-winning wines (at a great price point I might add) that conveniently can be picked up right around the corner from me. This bottle of Sauvignon Blanc I’m sipping on was even named by Wine Enthusiast as a Best Buy in March of 2019! Now that’s a vino fit to impress!
Cheers to Showing Up to Summer Soirees in Style
I’m all for getting together with my girlfriends to celebrate the big events, small occasions and everything in between. Fashion loving soul that I am, I tend to opt for fancier dresses for a night out. So I can’t resist sharing this darling outfit with you for inspo for your next night out!
I found this floral frock on Rent the Runway. Something I’ve been using in an effort to be more economical / not overstuff my closet. And what do you know, I love it so much I’m afraid I don’t have the heart to send it back. This ByTimo midi dress reminds me of something my grandmother might have worn in the late 1930s with it’s cinched waist, puffed sleeves, and flowy skirt. I know I live in the 2019. But goodness gracious, I’m such an old soul when it comes to music and movies; that I might as well transcend that taste with fashion too! So thankful pieces like this are still in style today!
To give my look some interest for an evening out. I added a velvet red headband (similar to a style Kate Middleton was recently spotted in) and comfortable classic sandals.
But the most fun accessory of all is the bottle of wine popping out of my purse on its way to greet my friends!
We may be heading back to Tennessee but wine nights with my Texas gals will always hold a special place in my heart & soul. When I come back to visit every so often, I’m sure I will pick up my same routine. Which consists of swinging by HEB, at the last minute of course, and heading to my girlfriend’s house for a good round of girl time.

PS: Isn’t’ this gazebo we snapped these pictures in so lovely!? McGovern Centennial Gardens at Hermann Park is one of the places in Houston I visited the most while living here. In an urban metropolis, finding a lovely public green space to frequent, was just what my nature-loving heart needed! Houston friends – have you visited the beautiful gardens at Hermann Park this summer? There are so many late summer wildflowers and roses in bloom making it a can’t miss this time of year!
