That feeling of slipping your feet into a thick cozy pair of socks then sliding them into your most comfortable pair of boots on a chilly day can’t be beaten. Fall & Winter Boot Trends: Tall Riding Boots

Easily the most popular winter boot is the English style “riding boot.” Raise your hand if you’ve ever been riding in your riding boots?! Even through the computer screen, I don’t see many, ha! I love styling this simple sleek boot with jeans, both casual and formal tops and with dresses too.

The pair above is one I picked up last fall from Cole Haan. The boots are still available this season from other retailers, such as Amazon, for half the price than they were a year ago today! I honestly can’t say enough good things about this beautiful boot. Cole Haan’s shoes can always be counted to come along with the utmost in quality and style. I wore these boots all over Ireland last fall and never once did my feet feel uncomfortable or tired. They’ve held up great even through a year of heavy wear on them. Excited to take these boots into this fall season with me too!

Fall & Winter Boot Trends: the Cut Out Western Bootie

I absolutely adore these cutout booties!! The silhouette and intricate details for some reason remind me of a shoe that a character would have worn on Downton Abbey. I watch a whole lot of period pieces and it’s safe to assume the characters’ style impacts my tastes. These black booties are called the Cliff Bootie and are by Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn – available at both Nordstrom and Anthropologie in several different colors.

The quality is impeccable and with a thick pair of ankle socks, they’re a great shoe to take on the day! I’m loving these booties with midi-dresses and skinny jeans this season.

Fall & Winter Boot Trends: Over the Knee Boots

Another amazing pair by Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn is the Logan Over the Knee Boots. (Also comes in more colors at Anthropologie.) These boots are definitely made for walking! I wore them around town the other day and received compliments galore on my kicks. I have a slimmer calf which makes me nervous sometimes when ordering OTK boots online. Countless pairs have slipped below my knees to make me look more like a pirate than a fashionista but this pair stays put!

I haven’t been much of a heel person since having Annie, so that’s something harder to get used to when wearing the Logan Boots. I’ve been saving them for dates or girls night out type of events. As you may know with a toddler, you never know when you’re going to need to break into a sprint! Wouldn’t suggest running as fast as you can in Target in these ha, I know from experience! But these boots are just lovely with short dresses, skinny jeans, and a sweater!

Fall & Winter Boot Trends: Classic Fringe Booties

The Western-style shoe trend is all the rage right now and obviously I can’t get enough of it. These fringe Felix Booties by Bernardo are made of the most luxurious soft suede and instantly elevate a simple pair of blue jeans. You can find them at Anthro in black and a gorgeous shade of burnt red too.

Fall & Winter Boot Trends: the Black Snake Skin Boot

These are my “fancy” boots! The Haze Boot by Marc Fisher LDT is a black croc-embossed leather boot that’s oh-so striking  – giving off elegant cowgirl vibes with its Western pointed toe. Marc Fisher LTD always releases styles right on target with the latest shoe trends, sometimes even ahead of them! You can use the code LTDFALL866 for 20% off any pair of shoes, including this one, on the Marc Fisher website.

I feel as if these boots call to be paired with a dressier look, like a midi skirt, dark denim, and an elegant top or sweater or even a fabulously fancy boho maxi dress. Like I mentioned above, I have a slimmer calf and this boot boasts a wider one so it’s not the snuggest fit up top but I believe that that is meant to be the style of the shoe. I’m so looking forward to dressing up this sleek pair of boots this holiday season!

Fall & Winter Boot Trends: the Straight Sleek & Suede Boot

The clean lines and sophisticated style of Nine West’s Maxim Dress Boot is the perfect pair to take you from the office to dinner out this fall & winter. While I love working from home in my leggings & fuzzy socks I very much find myself missing getting dressed up for my 9 to 5 back in the day. These boots would have made me feel so fierce during a former marketing presentation, I’m sure!

I think they look great styled with a simple fall dress, black pants and even dressed down with jeans. This boot also has a bit higher & narrower heel than I’m used to wearing. But after a day spent strolling in them I realized how comfortable they actually were and for a moment forgot I wasn’t actually three inches taller. The Maxim Dress Boot comes in just under $200 and you can choose between five different shades – even a snakeskin print!

Fall & Winter Boot Trends: Classic Western Cowgirl Booties with a Twist

My Tecovas cowgirl booties are arguably the most worn boots or booties in my closet. Tecovas described their Penny Bootie as an urban boot with an old, Western soul. A description I totally agree with too! I’ll opt to wear these boots for city adventures and typically take my more traditional cowgirl boots out to the farm. My favorite design element of these booties is how incredibly soft the calfskin leather is – I mean, it feels like butter! Not only are these oh-so-stylish boots but they’re insanely comfortable too.

You can see the many different ways I’ve styled my Tecovas through the years here. The Penny comes in black, a lighter “desert” brown and it’s also available in a suede option too. Tecovas recently even came out with the same style bootie called The Casey which boasts striking & exotic lizard leather.

Fall & Winter Boot Trends: Rubber Sole Western Booties

Another great cowgirl style bootie! While the silhouette of this pair from Born is pretty similar to Tecovas – these two booties are nothing alike. The rubber outsole in the Born Wynd Bootie is a stark contrast to Tecovas’ traditional wooden sole. For a busy mom like myself, sometimes I prefer my shoes to have a good grip – especially if I’m surprised with an impromptu sprint through the supermarket. I typically opt for this pair if I’m headed out and any sort of rain is in the forecast or if I know that I’m going to be on my feet for longer than usual. Let me tell y’all, this bootie’s microfiber cushioned footbed is a game changer!

Fall & Winter Boot Trends: the Classic Brown Bootie

These classic heeled booties from Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn are an essential shoe style to every fall wardrobe. I love a good classic style but I prefer the pieces in my wardrobe to always have some sort of small twist to make each item stand out from the rest. These Watchman Ankle Boots do just that. The foldover layers of deep brown/red wine hued leather give those simple boots just a bit more interest – and have me swooning!

I find the booties to fit true to size and make for an easy fall bootie to style for any occasion. They come in black too and are also available at Anthropologie. If you can’t tell, Anthro is my weakness when it comes to boots!)
