Patrick and I spent the most perfect-of-perfect kid-free three nights and four days in Cabo San Lucas, Mexica at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Resort last spring. Oh my goodness, I can’t even put into words how wonderful this trip was for us!! Our stay in The Towers at Pacifica exceeded every single expectation we had – and more. Now that it’s mid-fall and so many people are starting to plan their winter and early spring tropical travels, I thought that this would make for the perfect time for me to share a peek into our unforgettable stay at Pueblo Bonito – along with why I think you need to make a visit to this adults-only oasis with your significant other too! Head on down for more…
Pueblo Bonito is a brand of resorts with several properties scattered throughout Cabo. You can pick and choose which resort suits your family and travel desire best depending on the type of trip you want to take. Patrick and I were planning a grown-ups only getaway so we knew that the solitude adults-only experience at Pacifica was just for us. This resort sits on the Pacific Ocean side of Cabo and is a bit further from town providing guests with the utmost luxury and seclusion.
Experience Luxury Amenities & Ultimate Comfort in The Towers
The Towers at Pacifica is almost a separate resort within a resort. We booked a suite-style room here which included a spacious private terrace, turndown service, a walk-in shower, and jacuzzi tub bath and access to a VIP oceanfront lounge (complete with snacks and drinks at all times.) But the best part of all was 24-hour access to butler service. Our butler, Yomali, made all the difference in the world to our vacation in Cabo. Yomali had one of the sweetest personalities I’ve ever encountered and she bent over backward to make our stay more comfortable and more memorable.
I’ve seen every episode of Downton Abbey and was convinced I would have no need for butler service ever in my lifetime. “What could I possibly want for that I couldn’t do myself,” I thought. Yomali seems to know what her guests want before they know it themselves! For example, she greeted us upon our arrival with strawberry mojitos in hand to sip on while we toured the property. Stepping into our room, she arranged for salsa, guacamole, and chips to be waiting for us – imagining that we were hungry after a long day of travel. Each evening, she would confirm our dinner reservations with the restaurants and before going to bed she would make confirm breakfast plans and activities for the next day. To top it all off, her demeanor was just as kind as can be and she was a joy to be around.
Spice Up a Stay with a Mixology Class
This was a fun little addition to our trip! Soon after check-in, the on-site mixologist popped by our suite with a surprise margarita mixology class. I thought I knew how to make a margarita before Cabo but it turns out I was totally wrong. You simply do not just buy the mix at Kroger and add tequila. No no no! Our Mixologist taught us how to make a REAL margarita with fresh ingredients too. Of course, each sip tasted all the more amazing knowing we squeezed the limes and salted the rims ourselves!
Guests staying at Pacifica can opt for a private mixology class or attend a scheduled group one at the Peninsula Bar.
Cool Off Under a Beachside Cabana
Spending hours each day during our stay lounging under the shade of our cabana was 100% my favorite part of our entire trip. Having a toddler at home, this was unlike any form of relaxation I’ve experienced in two years prior. Oh, it was so good! Patrick and I cozied up on the king size platform cushioned rope-swing cabana bed with paperback books in hand and swayed to the sound of the waves crashing several yards away. A server popped by every so often to receive our drink requests (mine was almost always a Spicy Margarita) and to see if there was anything else under the sun we needed.
We were even surprised at one point with sweet summery cocktails served in a hand-cut and carved coconut!
Fill Your Belly with Whatever You Fancy
To top off a cabana-day (and a stay at Pacifica for that matter) was the all-inclusive and unlimited food amenities. I’ve never stayed at an all-inclusive resort before and was blown away by the taste of each dish. Patrick and I typically did breakfast and dinner in one of the restaurants but we found ourselves ordering lunch by the beach and snacks either by the pool or up in our room as often as we could. If only I could jump right back into this picture for a scoop of that delicious guacamole once again!
Dine at the Restaurants on Any Pueblo Bonito Property
Speaking of restaurants, guests staying at Pacifica are treated to some of the most delicious Cabo-cuisine right on the property. If you’re staying for several days, you may want to venture off property to another one Pueblo Bonito’s beautiful resorts where you can try any dish on any menu with any extras just billed back to your room at the Pacifica.
A few of the restaurants we tried (and loved) are:
Península Restaurant – Located on the Pacifica property and not far from our room. We dined on surf & turf al fresco with a beautiful view of the waves crashing in the distance. Such a romantic night!
Quivera Steakhouse – A short shuttle ride away is the Quievera Steakhouse. This was a big night out for us where we feasted on filet and sipped on smokey cocktails under the stars.
Siempre – The Siempre buffet at Pacifica is unlike any other I’ve ever experienced. The dishes were all so exotic and it was such a treat to be able to try anything I fancied. We opted to dine at Siempre for brunch on our last day.
LaFrida Restaurant – One of my favorite dinner dates in all my life to date was at LaFrida! The four-course traditional Mexican dinner we dined on was nothing short of spectacular. We finished our dinner off with Mexican Coffees that literally were served ON FIRE. Patrick and I were flabbergasted at the display and how delicious our dessert drinks were too. I almost want to plan a trip back to Cabo just so we can eat here again!
All dressed up with my handsome date before dinner at LaFrida!
Take a Plunge in the Relaxation Pool
Because Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is adults-only, you’ll find it is mostly couples visiting to enjoy the peace, quiet and serenity that the resort has to offer. This is what I loved most about our stay, how quiet it was!! Patrick and I are not the types of people who would enjoy a loud “Vegas-style” club-like pool party atmosphere and we were a bit worried we would find that at an all-inclusive adults-only resort. Pacifica’s vibe was more along the lines of honeymooners and couples enjoying relaxing anniversaries or special stays together which made for a quieter vibe that was right up our alley. No loud music or trays of tequila shots were in sight during our stay! This made the moniker of “Relaxation Pool” for the big circular pool by the beach all the more appropriate.

Stroll (or Sit & Sip) in the Sand
Pueblo Bonito Pacifica sits on the sand right next to the Pacific Ocean at the bottom of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. The beaches along this section of Cabo are deemed unswimmable as the waves are not only massive but riptides are pretty common too. I thought going into our stay I would be a bit bummed at not being able to dip my toes into the ocean – but honestly, I didn’t even miss it! Just strolling along the sand and admiring the waves crashing nearby was enough for me. And at the sight of those waves too, you wouldn’t want anything to do with it! Pacifica’s expansive beach was serene as-can-be and the sunsets each evening along the shore are not to be missed!
Plan an Excursion to the Famous Cabo Arch
We stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica for the majority of our trip but we did want to adventure off-site to see the famous Arch of Cabo San Lucas while we were in town. Our butler arranged the trip into town and boat journey for us and all we had to do was show up! It was so helpful to have transportation taken care of when we are in an unfamiliar place and a different country especially. Our boat tour of the Cabo coast only costs $40 cash total for the two of us. Worth every penny I will say!! We saw fishes underneath our glass bottom boat and snapped probably my favorite picture of just Patrick and me together with the famous arch as our background.
Dress in Favorite Resort Wear All Weekend Long
Last but not least, I love the excuse of getting dressed up to the nines in my favorite resort wear whenever I take a tropical trip! Who doesn’t!? I packed a slew of beach-ready sundresses, espadrilles, straw hats, straw handbags and more along my adventure with me. Sometimes I find it’s a bit harder to rock these over-the-top tropical looks at home even in the peak of summer so I go all out whenever I’m traveling.

Do you and your significant other plan yearly getaways together?! It’s something we’ve done ever since we said, “I do” and are trying to keep the tradition alive now that we have a toddler in tow. It’s definitely trickier to get away solo now but it’s sooo important for our relationship and keeping that youthful spirit of adventure alive too!

Big thank you to Pueblo Bonito Pacifica for the discounted stay! To be transparent, we received half of our trip comped and paid for the other half. It was seriously such a wonderful trip I would GLADLY do it all over again and pay whatever it cost just for three more nights on the Cabo Coast!
