Brand Spotlight: Meadows

Every once in a while, I’ll be browsing Instagram and stumble upon a dress, design, or brand that just speaks to me. Sometimes, clicking on the associated IG account brings me down a rabbit hole of even more beautiful silhouettes and styles from brands that evoke so much more than simple thoughts of “oh, that’s cute” but takes me deeper – thinking, “I can see myself frolicking through a field to find the perfect tree to picnic under in this oh-so-darling dress.” Does anybody else think this way sometimes, or is that just me!?

I’m a daydreamer through and through and I enjoy making my daydreams a reality as often as possible. When I first caught a glimpse of Meadows dresses, a British brand of prairie-style Victorian dresses, I was instantly smitten. I so wished I could jump right into the beautiful images and have a cup of tea with the stories Meadows created through their fashions. One glimpse of their IG account and I’m sure you’ll feel the same way!

I thought it would be so much fun to start incorporating a monthly Brand Spotlight Series on Lone Star Looking Glass. These features will be curated from collections of either small business, fairly unknown brands, or up & coming or unique designers and dreamers that strike my fancy. Starting today with Meadows, I’m styling & sharing their beautiful Azalea Dress below!

Many pieces in Meadows collection come in white cotton styles with a focus on beautiful embroidery. (No wonder I’m a fan!) Silhouettes are inspired by the Victorian Era as well as the revival of Victorian fashion found popular during the 1970s. They even claim to draw historical inspiration from the Tudors and the Renaissance to create a modern collection for everyday.

I’m loving that the Azalea Dress works perfectly for my growing baby bump!

This dress is still available in a few sizes and hopefully should be restocked at some point soon if you find your size is already sold out.  The Aster Dress is also a similar style too.

A close up look at this beautiful embroidery. PS: Styled this darling dress with my timeless Swedish Hasbeens and a classic structured straw handbag.

If you haven’t noticed by now, I absolutely adore fashion & filling my closet with my favorite finds. The limited space in my wardrobe can certainly attest to that fact. These days, I try to be more minimal in the things I buy for myself. I’ve enjoyed renting pieces from Nuuly for fun while investing in quality styles to keep that I know I’ll wear over & over & over again. Meadows pieces are small production made from organic materials in ethical factories. Wearing a well-made beautiful garment that tells a story is something that makes fashion even more fun! I’m looking forward to sharing even more brands with you all in the coming months that do just that too.

xo, Alice
