Okay, mayyybe I’ve been posting a little too much about Charleston lately. But when you go to such a photogenic city as The Holy City, well, you come back with a whole lot of photos!
I’m breaking down my entire trip to Charleston for The Blog Societies annual conference today. Sharing a peek into the actual conference, how we explored the city, and what I did on my one free afternoon – all by my lonesome. Here’s a hint -> it involves The Notebook!
Amidst the colorful houses and palm-lined streets lies the hustle & bustle of King Street (a fabulous shopping destination, I have to say) and The Riviera Theater – where our conference was held.
Just across from the theater was our home away from home for the weekend, The Belmond Hotel.

Our first night of the conference kicked off with a welcome party held by Vera Bradley at The Belmond. It was so much fun to see all of my instagram friends “IRL.” Not too mention fun to oooogle over their gorgeous outfits. A summertime soiree in Charleston, South Carolina really does bring out some pretty party dresses!
For a closer look at what I wore, check out this post.

After a restful night’s sleep in the most adorable hotel room I could imagine, we all geared up for a full day of speakers & workshops.
PS: TBS members were treated to surprise room service upon arrival. The surprise being PIMENTO FREAKING CHEESE. Needless to say, I was in heaven. 😉
We packed our notebooks and braved the rain to get our “brain game” on.
Speakers came from all across the country, most notably one from rewardStyle talking all about making your content more shoppable and another speaker from inStyle Magazine sharing tips & tricks on curating your content.

The weekend was then a (wonderful) blur of more workshops & networking. Loved getting to meet Greta & Katie, my two Tennessee gals!!
We finished the conference off with a delicious luncheon put on by Cosmedix skincare. (Their skincare line is ahhh-mazing, yall!!)
In between conferencing, we explored the colorful streets …
… munched on pimento cheese sandwiches and sipped (virgin) bloody mary’s at Poogan’s Porch …
as well as snapped photos of every cute window box we could find!
On our last day in Charleston, we found we had a few extra hours of downtime.
So why not go to the beach? Duh!
Folly Beach was only a 25 minute Uber away from the hotel, and well worth the uber trip’s price tag.
It’s not every day you get to hear seagulls chirping while dipping your toes into the Atlantic Ocean!
All smiles with Brittany & Lauren!
And the last thing I have to share about my trip to Charleston (and quite possibly my favorite) was my visit to Boone Hall Plantation.
I flew in earlier than my roomies and had an entire day to spend all by myself. Before I even stepped off the plane, I had purchased a ticket to tour the plantation that even included transportation from my hotel!
So does this oh-so-pretty plantation home look a bit familiar to ya? It’s actually the home of Allie from The Notebook! Remember that big breakup scene? Yep, took place right there on that porch & in that drive way.
Speaking of driveways, this is one of the most famous ones in the country! Lined with 100+ year-old Spanish Moss covered Live Oaks, it’s a breathtaking sight to see in person.
But just when you think the plantation can’t get any more beautiful, you see the backyard.
And the creek where Noah and Allie rowed their little rowboat – then went for a swim together. Fun fact, all of these scenes were filmed here smack dab in the middle of winter. Brr!!
Hope you enjoyed following along my adventures in Charleston! Big thank you to The Blog Societies for picking such a beautiful city to hold the conference. We couldn’t complain a bit!
And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
