Not Your Boyfriend’s Jean Jacket

True Religion boyfriend jean jacket with a white lace anthropologie sundress.

Today’s look is like a combination of sugar & spice. An edgy meets sweet look with this boyfriend embroidered jean jacket and feminine lace sundress. (Pssst! & the jacket is on sale too!) I’m talking all about this throw on & go outfit of mine and chatting a bit about my upcoming travels. Head on down below for more!

I’ve been a big fan of True Religion’s blue jeans since my junior year of college when I purchased my first pair. So, basically a LONG time! When I saw this denim jacket on their site, I started crushing on it immediately. (It helped that it was on major sale too!) It has that oversized slouchy fit that a pair of boyfriend jeans has, but in jacket form. The embroidered floral details spruce it up and give it just enough of a girly touch too.

My first thought was to style it with darker jeans or a pair of dark denim shorts. After thinking about it a bit longer I knew it would look insanely amazing worn over a sundress. And now that’s all I ever want to wear it with! My simple white sundress pairs well with this statement piece & lets it stand out. Depending on the day, white converse sneakers or my Swedish Hasbeens are my go-to shoes for a look like this one.

Now for a bit of rambling on life lately! On Thursday Patrick and I are headed out on our first vacation together with Annie! We’ve done a road trip with her up to Memphis to see family, but this trip is going to be very different. For starters, we’re flying… with a three-month-old. Wish us luck! We’re also going to be roughing it in a “primitive” cabin in the middle of a canyon. I seriously can not wait!! After a few days in Palo Duro Canyon, we’ll spend time in Amarillo to see all the sights this panhandle city has to offer.

What makes this trip extra-special is that I’m teaming up with Texas Tourism to help promote the area! After our stay, I’ll be writing up the entire experience and sharing a travel guide on the area too. It still feels like I dream that I’m able to combine my passion for travel, blogging, photography and writing all into one … while having fabulous opportunities come out of it too. Be sure to follow along later this week to see what we’re up to in a very different part of the lone star state!
