Hello from the start of a new week! We laid pretty low this weekend, catching up on the house and spending quality time with our little family. It was a good thing we didn’t have any big plans because Annie is in the middle of some serious teething! Her second tooth broke the surface sometime yesterday and we’ve just been doing everything since to make her feel better. Can y’all imagine what that must feel like as an adult!? OUCH!
I’m bringing some summertime cheer to the blogosphere today with this bright & airy two-piece look. Mixing and matching different skits & tops has been my jam this summer! They’re both from J.Crew, and I have to say I’ve fallen in love with this brand all over again! (After quite the break!) Chatting about that + sharing details on this look and all the different colors & prints this combo comes in below!
What I love the most about this oh-so-feminine eyelet skirt is how versatile it is. You can dress it up with an embellished top and heels or dress it down with a casual tee and sneakers. It also comes in black too which would be adorable with a pair of booties come fall. I grabbed both of these pieces from J.Crew (they’re also available at Nordstrom) and I have to admit I was just stunned by them! I hadn’t shopped in a J.Crew in what felt like years. During my college sorority days, I could not get enough!
I’m not sure what it was about their merchandise or what caused me to take a serious break, but J.Crew’s darling prints & classic silhouettes have struck my fancy once more. Maybe it is because the pieces aren’t as preppy? Maybe it’s that they have reverted back to classic styles that will transcend trends? I can’t put my finger quite on it but I hope it doesn’t change!
Shop the Look:
This week I’m working on catching up on life after traveling non-stop for what feels like the past three weeks. (It is seriously SO good to be home!) We’ve got a zoo date planned with some other mamas and I’m also bringing this delicious lasagna recipe over to my bestie who just had a baby boy. I can’t stop thinking about her and how they’re doing. Those first few weeks are soooo intense! I’ll never forget how grateful I was to receive meals from our friends when Annie was first born. We were so thankful for the gestures and I’m thrilled to be able to return the favor this time around. I mean, layers of oohey gooey cheese & meat are sure to help distract from the craziness if not just for a little bit, right?
Wishing you all a wonderful week, and as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
