With each and every holiday tradition + Christmas song that comes on the radio, I squeal a little bit inside because I am just so excited to be celebrating Annie’s very first Christmas this year! I just think back on all of the wonderful holiday memories I hold dearly & knowing she has that ahead of her just warms my heart. Because of this, I’m finding myself wanting to go above & beyond and do Christmas to the nines this year.
Today I’m teaming up with Rockport to share what “joy” is to me. It’s no surprise that joy is being able to celebrate this special time of year with my little family. I’m also sharing a cute & casual holiday outfit in this post that’s perfect for the hustle & bustle of holiday errands ahead!
Over the weekend, Patrick, Annie & I headed out to find the perfect Christmas tree. We’ve always bought real trees (Fraser Firs to be exact) & I can’t imagine a holiday season without that sweet smelling pine filling our home.
With each and every tree we would pass, I would whisper in Annie’s ear, “That’s a Christmas tree!” Once we found our perfect tree, we let her feel its branches while watching her face beam with discovery & delight. It really is such a magical thing, sharing your favorite holiday traditions with your child.
Of course, the fashionista in me cannot resist an excuse to dress for the occasion! I wore these under $100 corduroy skinnies (that also come in a few other fun colors) paired with a cozy turtleneck sweater. I love how my casual holiday outfit looked with these taupe Rockport sneakers too!
I’ve been a fan of Rockport for a while now. And to me, nothing beats a good pair of comfortable shoes that are also as stylish as can be. These sneakers of mine are called the Cobb Hill Willa High Tops and they come in a pretty shade of almond leather too. The interior has a molded-EVA footbed that offers some serious arch support. And with toting a toddler all day long, that is something I definitely don’t take for granted.

I have a strong feeling I’ll be wearing this outfit on repeat all season long. I actually wore it on Thanksgiving too! These pants feel like pajamas and I can’t get enough of a good cozy sweater. Naturally, I had to dress Annie up for the occasion. (Because who would I be if I did not!? Lol) Her two-piece set is from Little Me and I love that the words: “My First Christmas” are embroidered on the chest.
