A Stylish Guide to a Glam Friendsgiving

Thanksgiving is just two days away! We’re over here running around like crazy people doing all of the last-minute preparations before our guests arrive later this evening. There are still a few odd things to do around the house but I’ve finally narrowed down the menu and my plans for the table setting so in that regard, I feel good to go!

Amid all of the hustle and bustle, I wanted to share a glimpse into a Friendsgiving Dinner that I attended with a few oh-so-sweet Memphis bloggers last weekend. We styled the table to the nines in the hopes to inspire you, our readers with either your Thanksgiving dinner plans or inspiration for hosting a glam Friendsgiving soiree down the road!

Today, I’m sharing not only how to put together the loveliest glam Friendsgiving tablescape but I’m also dishing on the most delicious recipes to serve your guests in style too. Head on down for more!

Dress for the Occasion

First things first, let’s talk about fashion! I absolutely love to get dressed up for special occasions and Thanksgiving Day certainly falls into the category. This holiday is designed for feasting so, therefore, it’s best to be mindful that your fashion choices flatter the traditional agenda. I paired a silver velvet pleated mini skirt with a cropped cozy brown sweater for our Friendsgiving festivities and am planning to wear something similar on Turkey Day too. The stretchy skirt paired with an oversized sweater makes for a comfortable and chic look no matter how many slices of pie I placed on my plate.

A Stylish Way Top to Your Table

We glittered our tabletop for a glam Friendsgiving with bold details such as brass candleholders paired with pink candlesticks. A runner of fresh greenery was adorned with roses in sweet feminine shades of blush and white. Bright pink rose petals were also scattered about the greenery for a more natural unfussy feel that seemed to just tie the entire display together!

Display Your Bird in Style

We plated our Friendsgiving Turkey on a beautiful platter garnished with fresh holly leaves and berries. This dresses-up the display making for the most beautiful presentation while guests seat themselves awaiting the carving.

Serve Showstopping Sidedishes

We all know the turkey is the piece de la resistance when it comes to a Thanksgiving dinner, but sometimes side dishes can make for such showstoppers – its all your guests want to talk about! That was the case for this oh-so-delectable Crispy Prosciutto & Caramelized Onion Butternut Squash Lasagna. Andrea LeTard of Andrea’s Cooktails is the chef behind this delicious dish. You can find the recipe (which I’ll be recreating this Thanksgiving) right here

Instead of serving basic carrots, wow your guests with a twist on the dish with this recipe for Whisky Pepper Jelly Glazed Rainbow Carrots also by Andrea LeTard.

Use Gold Tones to Glam it Up

Our place setting was put together from mismatched pieces in shades of gold, rose gold, blue and most importantly pink – all found from Social,  an adorable gift shop in Memphis. Gold flatware, gold chargers, and gold-trimmed cocktail glasses and goblets sparkled upon our table setting. A good tip to make mismatched table settings work is to try to keep the color palette of each piece in the same shades.

Cheers to Spiked Apple Cider

Spiked Apple Cider makes for a simple seasonal cocktail to serve guests this time of year. Just mix a splash of Apple Cider with champagne and garnish with a cinnamon stick or sliced orange for a festive & refreshing beverage.

Thank Your Guests with Thoughtful Gifts

Party favors aren’t just for kids’ birthdays anymore. Boxes of Shotwell Candy Co.’s Caramels were tied glam ribbons and placed one at each place setting for guests to take home a little something sweet from their Friendsgiving meal. They aren’t only a thoughtful gift to take home but the box and ribbon add a bit of pizzaz to the place setting too.

We had so much fun getting to know one another that lovely fall afternoon. Check out these beautiful Memphis bloggers and fashionistas blogs & IG’s here: Alex, Faith, Brittany, Shelby, Laura, Emily & Hope.
