Three Ways to Spend the Ultimate Girl’s Day

I’m so excited because my sweet friend Brittany is making an appearance on the blog today! Brittany is a fellow Houston blogger and she writes the life + style blog Hello Honey. She’s the sweetest (and most stylish!) girl and mama to two precious boys! The two of us decided to take a break from our busy lives late last month to spend the day together at River Oaks Shopping Center.

I’m a firm believer in taking time for yourself to refresh, recharge & hang out with the girls! When you’re a busy mama, sometimes you can forget what it feels like to just be out on your own! I’m sharing my three favorite ways to spend a girl’s day in today’s post with River Oaks Shopping Center.

1. Shopping … Of Course!

River Oaks Shopping Center has a number of different boutiques to peruse from, catering to all tastes and styles. When Brittany and I met up, we both knew we had to stop in francesca’s first. I actually met Brittany originally through francesca’s! When I used to work in Marketing for the brand a few years ago, we teamed up with Brittany for a blogger collab and I was so excited to chat with her for the first time off of instagram. We then met officially in person at a conference a few months later and the rest is history!

And of course I immediataly gravitate towards the mermaid coffee mug. 😉

With our arms full of clothes and coffee, we strolled on over to Nail-Tique for pedicures to kick off the summer season in style.

2. Pampering

Now to pick just one color!! I always seem to go with a shade of red on my toes, lighter in the summer and darker in the winter. I’ll spice things up with a manicure but I can’t remember the last time my toes weren’t painted a shade of red. Do you typically stick to the same colors when getting your nails done too?

3. Lunch Al Fresco

After lunch, we headed over to La Madeleine to sit outside and watch the shoppers go by at River Oaks Shopping Center. We were so lucky that the weather was actually cool enough to eat outdoors. I’m convinced that food tastes better when you’re dining under the sun!

And you guys, I seriously can not even begin to tell you how many times I’ve had La Madeleine in the past two months alone. I am sooo obsessed with their Chicken Parisian Sandwich + soup and salad combo! When I’m in a rush, I call it in to-go and take it home almost weekly. It’s like once I find something I like (a lot) I get fixed on that particular meal for months!

If you’re more adventurous than me and like to try new things every so often, La Madeleine has a huge menu with French-inspired dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Now to show y’all what we picked up from francesca’s! I love shopping at francesca’s not only because the price point is amazing, but you can always find styles right on trend for the season. Take these circle straw crossbody bags for example. This handbag style is starting to pop up everywhere and francesca’s is one of the only places that I’ve seen take a unique spin on the style. The ceramic blue and white detail on mine just has me swooning!

I also love how both of our outfits coordinate with each other’s so perfectly, and we didn’t even plan it! While francesca’s usually carries a limited stock of each item, that way you don’t see your same outfit on someone else out & about, you usually find different variations of the same pieces over time. Definitely pop in the River Oaks location if you’re on the hunt for summer sandals, a floral maxi dress, or casual tops and denim shorts like the ones we’re styling above!

Brittany and I both left our girl’s day adventure feeling refreshed, a bit more stylish, and ready to take on the rest of the week! After reminiscing while writing this post, I’m thinking another one of these days is in order … and soon!

Big big thank you to River Oaks Shopping Center for sponsoring this post and giving Brittany and I such a lovely afternoon together! As always, all opinions are my own. Thanks to you all for supporting the brands that make Lone Star Looking Glass possible.
