Howdy, y’all! I’ve been quite a bit MIA over on the blog but all over the place on instagram these past two weeks. Patrick and I headed off to Ireland for a good friend’s wedding and a true “grown-up” vacation. I didn’t totally unplug (I have too much fun taking pictures and sharing them on insta to do so) … but I did set an away message on my email and gave myself actual time away from my computer. Hence the radio silence on my actual blog. But a break is good every now and then you know!?
I could go on and on and on about our trip, how wonderful it was, all the planning that went into it to make it that way and what not .. but I’ll save that for a later post. Today I am sharing a bit of fall style inspo now that I hear the temperatures are finally starting to drop all over the country!
This printed silk maxi dress is by Lafayette 148 and was such fun to see styled on the recent runway show they threw at Houston’s Sak’s last month. I put a little bit of my boho twist on it with a floppy felt hat, straw circle bag that transitions to fall and my comfy black booties. I love that this dress comes in a modest silhouette (which means it’ll work for so many more occasions) while it’s bold print also boasts a bit of pizazz too!
Shop the Look:
I packed it on our trip to Ireland and wore it to dinner a few times. I thought it would be perfect to throw on and go for a night out. But what I wasn’t expecting was needing to layer it with tall boots and a wool sweater. The weather there was sooo much colder than we were anticipating but ahhh it was glorious!! Experiencing a little bit of “true fall weather” somewhere else for a short while makes the anticipation of Houston’s long-awaited arrival of fall that much easier to bear!
Now that I’m planning on getting back in the swing of things …. with a lot more down time at home too .. I’m planning on pouring a ton of fun new content back into this blog of mine. Please tell me if there is anything, in particular, you’re hoping to see or have questions about. I’m an open book and would love to share my family’s take on this festive time of year with y’all!
