SHOP MY MAXI DRESS AND COWBOY BOOTS LOOK:
Spring hasn’t officially sprung in Memphis, yet these pretty pink flowers have already arrived and are ready to celebrate the season! I’m right there with them. I’m thrilled to be transitioning from heavy winter coats and sweaters to billowy sundresses in the coming weeks. Are you feeling the same way too!? It may be 45 degrees out today, but I’m sharing signs of spring in today’s blog post & chatting all about one of my favorite looks I’ll be rocking this coming season: maxi dresses styled with cowboy boots!
I’m sharing my take on the trend, how to effortlessly balance these two statement pieces together & giving y’all a bit of springtime style inspo below in today’s post!
The Billowy the Maxi Dress – The Better
All things Praire & Western Chic are very on-trend right now, which makes my cowgirl loving heart oh-so-happy! (Crossing my fingers these trends stick around for a good long while too!) Most maxi dresses already have a lot going on with the excess in fabric, color and sometimes even print. Pairing such a statement-making silhouette with often bulky cowboy boots can seem a little off to most but I wholeheartedly disagree with that thought.
When styling the two, I tend to opt for my more flowy billowy maxi dresses – the ones that have a more flouncy hem, if you will. This chambray dress is from an adorable online boutique based out of Memphis called Shelby Jewel. I scored it on sale here for only $45 and the quality of the dress is amazing for the price! The flirty flowy hem gives my boots enough room and lets them even show off a little bit when I’m walking too.
Here are several more dresses I think would look just gorgeous styled with cowboy boots too:
When it Comes to Cowboy Boots, Anything Goes
In case you haven’t noticed, I love love my cowboy boots! It’s a good thing people wear them regularly here in Tennessee too – but even if they didn’t, I know I still would. Do you have a coveted pair (or pairs) too?
When mixing cowboy boots with maxi dresses, I tend to typically opt for a pair with a shorter shaft, like these star-speckled beauties from Ranch Road Boots. {They’re called the Presidio Short and are handcrafted from Spanish leather. The tiny star cut-out details are too fun and make a statement without being over the top.} The shorter shaft seems more casual to me and keeps the look from being a little too much. Don’t get me wrong, I swap out my regular boots with dresses quite a bit but most often I prefer this silhouette. My Tecovas booties are another pair I like to regularly pair with maxi dresses.
Have you ever styled a maxi dress with cowboy boots before?!
PS: I can’t finish this blog post without chatting a bit about my new ‘do! If you’re following along on Instagram, you might have seen my hair update here. I immediately regretted my chop last January – realizing short hair just wasn’t for me. Nothing against the style, it just didn’t feel “me” if that makes sense. I went back to House of Aglaia salon for 22″ extensions a few weeks ago & I’ve been loving my hair game so much more ever since!
