You guys, this dress. I’m obsessed. I don’t even know where to begin! Let me start by saying I recently realized how much my style has transformed over the past three years living in Texas. It’s completely natural for a new city & setting to have an influence on you. Head to the bottom of the post to see why I think Texas’ influence over my fashion choices sure is an obvious one!
First of all, let me touch on this fabuulllous Anthro dress. The colors and prints are so bright & vibrant, but somehow it totally works. And I’m swooooning over this Western collar, y’all!
If you’re interested in snagging it before it’s gone, I highly recommend sizing down. There is a whole lot of fabric in the silhouette and being pregnant and all, you think you’d want that extra fabric… but trust me – sizing down is going to make the world of a difference. Pregnant or not.
I also love how this dress goes with both black & brown effortlessly. So much so, that I had to mix the two!
The silhoutte really is SO forgiving, I only look pregnant if I actually hug my baby belly (like so.) 😉

Okay, now on to why I think Texas has totally influenced my style game!
I’d have to say when living in Tennessee, my style was a bit more traditional. I still experimented with new trends but overall my look was a bit more: classic J.Crew meets feminine Anthropologie. Living in Texas, the weather is much warmer {to say the least} and there is also this underlying Southwestern “cowboy” culture that radiates through the state. Mix both of those with fourth-largest city in the country and you have a recipe for some serious style game.
After three years of Texas-living, fringe details, suede, denim on denim, silver & turquoise jewerly & anything bohemian & embroidered have become staples in my wardrobe. Never did I think I would have two shelves filled with cowboy boots in my closet, but I do now! And you better believe they are all worn on the regular.
Sure, I wore bits and pieces of everything I mentioedn above back in Tenessee. I even rocked a pair of cowboy boots on my wedding day! But moving to the Lone Star state, where I didn’t know a soul when I arrived, has given me a new level of style confidience to rock any and every trend that I feel like – and most of those just happen to be Texas-inspired ones!
Would you say that your town or state influences your style? It’s so much fun to see how diverse fashion can be from region to region.
PS: Anthro is still running their extra 30% off sale “Sale!” Woot woot!
And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
